RunCore Pro IV

The RunCore Pro IV is a solid state drive (SSD) that is aimed to provide speed increases in startup, application launch, multitasking between programs, opening/rendering/saving large files, and shutdown. The SSD also features silent operation, longer battery life, heat reduction, and durability. With operating system and application consisting of thousands of small files, the RunCore Pro IV SSD can process these files at 10X write and 50X read. The RunCore Pro IV comes in different editions PC editions and Mac editions with capacity choise of 32 GB or 128 GB.

Features

The RunCore Pro IV is touted by the company to feature the world's fastest MLC SSD, reaching speeds up to 240MB/sec read and 160MB/sec write. RunCore Pro IV Solid State drives features random read and random write speeds with in/outs per second (IOPS) of over 7000 read and 300 write. The SSD is designed for various fields and adopts flash controller and NAND flash for optimal performance in write/read rate than mechanism hard driver, and supports low power consumption and anti-vibration. It complies with SATA 2.0, which supports operating systems such as Windows9X /Me/NT/XP/CE/Vista, MAC, Linux and Unix, Solaris, Vxworks. It contains the cache size of up to 64M. The SSD can be installed in any operating system environment that supports SATA 1.0 or greater devices. The drive is compliant with SATA 2.0 standards. The SSD has a standard Serial ATA interface that is fully ATA/ATAPI-8 compliant and conforms to the same mechanical and mounting requirements as a standard rotating disk drive. The wear-leveling algorithm integrated in the firmware supports erase/write cycles that are evenly distributed across all of the flash memory block locations. Wear-leveling eliminates repeated writes to the same physical flash memory location, and prevent blocks from premature wear. The bad-block mapping algorithm replaces bad-blocks with new ones from available spares. Two percent (2%) of the flash memory is held in reserve (spare blocks) for bad block replacement. Bad blocks in the media are flagged when detected. The next time an attempt is made to access a flagged block, it is immediately replaced by a spare block. The bad-block mapping function enables data to be automatically transferred from a bad sector to an available spare block. Data stored on RunCore SSD remains valid for 10 years without requiring power support. Each unit can be stored under certain environmental conditions for extended periods without any occurrence of data degradation.
