Wont turn your old laptop into Skynet, but definitely a cheap easy upgrade.

Summary: Yep its a SSD drive. I didn't call my mom and tell her about it (my mom is 65, she would ask me if SSD is a new kind of drug). Easy install into a Dell XPS 17 worked fine didn't have any issues. Formatted, installed Windows - way faster than the stock 5400 RPM drive.
When it worked, it worked great... For about 220 hours.

Summary: When I first got this SSD in mid October 2014, I thoroughly enjoyed the performance I got out of the product. However, not even 4 months later, the SSD stopped working, which is a shame since my OS, and a bunch of one installation only software was running off of it.
Summary: I got this SSD back in August 2014 and overall it is an improvement from my hard drive; however, when used for several hours it has the habit of freezing. This may be specific to my laptop, but if you have a HP Pavilion dm4 then expect possible freezing after 10+ hours of use in one sitting.
Summary: I think that's the best I could do for you to stop buying it. Bought it 3 month ago Some times the computer reboot just randomly Yesterday I just found out I can't even turn my computer on. Changed the Sata cable, would not work. And the computer can't even recognize the drive anymore.
Summary: I give it four stars because the product works great. Boot times are greatly improved and general multitasking and launching apps has improved slightly. But with the size of downloads and apps these days, i wouldn't recommend an SSD this small in capacity.
Good price, speeds up your Windows Boot times dramatically, just the right amount of storage space for Booting Windows

Summary: For some reason newer SSD drives do not show up when I insert them into my Thermaltake USB SATA Docking station, in order to backup my PC main hard drive to the SSD. You would require a USB to SSD cable in order to back up your PC's main hard drive to this SSD.
Summary: Failed Fast! Not even 2 months... installed on Oct, 22, Dead on Dec 15! Customer responsible for all warranty shipping costs to PNY so I have to spend more money to get a working unit. I won't trust the replacement for any important tasks so I still need to buy a good SSD...
Summary: This is my first experience with a PNY SSD. I've had great success with SSDs from OCZ, Sandisk, and Kingston (never any issues). I put this into a new build using a Gigabyte motherboard and Win 8.1.
Summary: This is my second SSD drive and not the one with my primary OS installation. I got this because it was on sale for Cyber Monday and the most space I could get for under $100. My primary SSD is a Samsung Evo 120GB.
Summary: I waited for a good long time before writing this review (8 Months) - being that the item is a SSD you never know how good it is until some time has past. I really enjoy my "PNY SSD" its not the fastest in the world but its far better than my standard HDD that it replaced.
