Summary: I got this SSD back in August 2014 and overall it is an improvement from my hard drive; however, when used for several hours it has the habit of freezing. This may be specific to my laptop, but if you have a HP Pavilion dm4 then expect possible freezing after 10+ hours of use in one sitting.
Summary: I waited for a good long time before writing this review (8 Months) - being that the item is a SSD you never know how good it is until some time has past. I really enjoy my "PNY SSD" its not the fastest in the world but its far better than my standard HDD that it replaced.
Summary: Absolutely fantastic. I replaced an old, standard, drive in my PC with this affordable SSD and the machine is better than new. So much faster. My bootup times went from 2min to <1min. If you are even thinking about installing a SSD in your PC, DO IT.
Lag issue and poor over the phone customer service by PNY

Summary: There was a lag issue with my SSD 2 months in after I received it. At first I would notice small lags and it wouldn't effect me too much cause it would last for about a second. After 4 months the lags would last for 5-10 seconds and It's time I had to trouble shoot the issue.

My two complaints are the read/write speeds are slower than what they claim and the life span is also less (I do not do that many read/writes on this SSD), but that is not enough to take off a star because...
Summary: One of the best upgrades you can make is switching to a SSD. The boot and shut down times are super fast. This isn't the fastest drive on the market but still very good. Pros- Everything Cons- None I can think of but there are faster drives out on the market but this one is very good especially for...
Summary: Great value for an SSD; will bring new-life to older computers with its speed. But be careful: this SSD is 9.5mm thick unlike others that are 7mm - so check your application. For example, this SSD will not fit in the older Acer C710 chromebooks with out some physical modifications (like removing the...
Summary: I replaced the HDD of a 5 year old Hp laptop with this XLR8. Upgraded Vista to Win 7 at the same time. Installation went smooth as silk. The 9mm SSD fit perfectly in the old computer. Boot up times and application launch are now very fast. Seems like a solid performing drive.
