  • Summary: I purchased this SSD becsause I have been using Plextor Products for more than a decade without failures. The drive is super fast and reliable. I installed it in an Acer 10.1" Netbook with Windows 7 Premium and 2 GB System Memory. I use this Netbook when I travel long distances via car.

5 stars. Solid. Fast. 2+ years of use.

  • Summary: 5 stars. Got it over two years ago. Blisteringly fast still, even when I overload it and fill the disk 100% all the time (even though you shouldn't do it). Outstanding product, and a better warranty than most other SSDs. My next SSD will be a Plextor. They make good stuff, their burners were always good in my experience, too.

Fast!

Elizabeth Horlick, Amazon

  • Summary: I bought this for my fiance for Christmas when they were having a HUGE sale. He loved it and it makes his computer boot up and run so much faster. He is a software developer and uses this to process his code. Can't wait for them to go on sale again so that I can get him another one. He's gonna have the fastest Laptop on the block!

Great SSD!

Sam, Amazon
8 December 2012
  • Summary: This is a great SSD. I replaced a spinning rust RAID 5 array with this drive, and the speed is noticeably faster. Benchmarks are impressive, very close to advertised. This drive users the same Marvell controller as the Crucial M4, but has a custom firmware with several nice features, including much better garbage collection. Pros: Speed(of course!) Plug and play, it just works. Plextor quality. Looks cool. Not OCZ. Cons: Price.

Overall good performer vs competitors

blahblahblah, Amazon

  • Summary: I own also Crucial M4, no doubt it's the most reliable, affordable SSD on the market. However, this M3S, although it's not as cheap as M4, but definitely worth the price. TrueSpeed does work, better than its competitor. Five year warranty where others only offer three, I think it is worth every penny for reliability, warranty and performance combined.

FAST

M. Sullivan, Amazon

  • Summary: You can't go wrong with this SSD. Easy to install and blazingly fast. To successfully run a firmware update you may have to change AHCI to IDE in the BIOS. Just change it back when you're done. An SSD will make the biggest improvement in your system's performance. It is amazing how fast your OS and apps like Photoshop will load with an SSD. My Photoshop now loads in 3 seconds. Whoopee. Hands down the best computer upgrade I have ever made.

Plextor 256 gig SSD

David879, Amazon
8 March 2012
  • Summary: Hard drive in my notebook was giving me errors after running Windoze for a while. After doing a disk check and then defrag in Windoze, Disk check would find errors and try to repair them. The hard drive would make slight noises sometimes also. Decided to upgrade to a SSD and WOW, After doing a disk clone, the laptop runs like new again with Windoze and Suse Linux 12.1. Boot up time is cut in half. Opening a program is very quick. No drivers were required.

AMAZING!!!

yapchagi, Amazon
30 December 2011
  • Summary: This SSD is one of the best out there. Very fast compared with my Agility 2 SSD. Applications load faster on the Plextor M3S SSD. Though I'm still using SATA II connection coz my X58 SATA III sucks. I'm sure on intel native SATA III connection, this SSD will scream! I was confused whether I should get this one or the Crucial M4. They both have the exact same controller. But the Plextor M3S has 512 MB cache, while crucial m4 only has 128 mb.
