Summary: Drive went out after 3 years and Plextor customer support took 5 days to respond to my first email about an RMA. I told them I was unable to boot my computer and the disk is bad. They told me to install some software to send them a SMART log before they can give me an RMA.
Pros: Drive is fast while it lasts.
Cons: Drive went out after 3 years and customer support is a joke. Can't even get someone on the phone because their line constantly rings busy.
Cons: despite what the new egg site said when i purchased it, it does not work with sata 3.0 (which is surprising since I assumed it was just a simple connector but apparently there must be something going on inside it). This inexpensive item isnt worth the cost/hassle of shipping it back etc.
Summary: Why does Plextor provide such garbage software.
Pros: Drive works great.
Cons: Spent over an hour trying to get Acronis to work. Even though I copied the activation code from the provided disc and entered it during install, when I launch the program I get the activation code window and the only option highlighted is the get activation code button sending me to their website...
Cons: Getting freezes and error messages that occur every few days. A lot of people who have a P67 motherboard and a Vertex 3 SSD are having the same issues as me. It's most likely a firmware problem but there is still no fix for it after the 6 or so months I've owned it, and I purchased it when it cam...
