Patriot Inferno 100GB SSD Review

maximum pc
3 September 2010
  • Excerpt: SandForce-based drives have quickly emerged as the frontrunners in the solid-state wars, thanks to impressive read and write speeds, both sequential and random (which finally gives them an edge over the previous random-write leader, the aging Intel X-25M G2 ). All SandForce drives use the same controller, so differences between models come down to the commodity NAND used and—most importantly—firmware.
  • Pros: Solid SandForce sustained reads/writes.
  • Cons: Can't match the 4KB random-write IOPS of Corsair's or OCZ's drives.

  • Summary: Given what we had already seen from the previous Sandforce-based SSDs, the Patriot Inferno 100GB was never going to disappoint in terms of performance. However while Patriot seems to be leading the industry with their warranty, they are quite behind when it comes to pricing and firmware.

Patriot Inferno 100GB Solid State Drive Review

Hardware Canucks
15 July 2010
  • Conclusion: The Patriot Inferno is certainly an interesting drive and when we look back upon the results, there is no doubt it is extremely fast when compared to most other SSDs on the market. It offers great performance across every one of the programs you will most likely use and its synthetic test results were among some of the best we have seen out of the current SSD generation.

Patriot Inferno 100GB

26 July 2010
