Summary: This unit was used to replace the 500GB drive in my Mac Mini. HALF of the storage I had, but Macs store extremely efficiently than "Fat" OS's (Windows). The increase in speed is truly AMAZING - and I'm still only using about ⅓ of it's capacity - and I have TONS of files of all kinds.
Summary: My MacBookPro took over 1 minute to boot. Now it boot's in 10s. This was one the best upgrade ever. Do your research... thera are some SSD's that are very slow. Mercury Extreme Pro has lots of advantages over other brands and models.
Can't imagine ever going back to a stock 5400rpm hard drive

Summary: My 15" early 2011 Macbook Pro's logic board died recently. I got it back repaired from Apple, and decided to use this time to upgrade the hard drive. I bought this drive and the OWC data doubler. I moved my stock 5400 rpm drive to the optical port using the data doubler, and put the Apple Superdrive in an external enclosure. It is LITERALLY like I have a new computer now with the OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6Gas my main boot up drive.
Single Most Best Upgrade to give your computer be it mac/pc

Summary: I purchased this for my late 2011 MBP. I installed it in the macbook pro(much easier on the newer bodies than of days of old when you had to remove a bunch of stuff) and used a usb mountain lion thumbdisk to do the partitioning and formatting and installing of 10.8 mac os x (which worked like a charm). My MacBook Pro now screams!! What I like about OWC is the fact that are making their hardware specifically for Apple Products..
Summary: I bought a new mid-2012 MBP 13 and installed an OCZ Vertex 4 256 Gb SSD (see my review of that product). I had nothing but problems with formatting and other issues, such as crashing on sleep/wake. After much troubleshooting, I determined that the SSD was the source of my problems. I returned it and replaced with this OWC drive. I was able to format the disk, add a recovery partition (the OCZ would not permit), and load my system via Time Machine.
Summary: I used this SSD as the primary drive on my 2011 iMac and it fitted and just worked. Boot up times and overall response in using applications is very quick. Running Final Cut Pro X application on the primary SSD and using the 2nd internal disk drive for the scratch drive has dramatically improved it's response time when using the application. When the overall price drops for SSD's I will replace the 2nd disk drive as well which will improve speeds even more.
