Summary: Wow what a difference ! Main thing was shipping was lightning fast, Was here in 2 days. Its my first SSD cache, Price was 99.00 then 20 on top of that for the rebate from OCZ. Can't beat that with a stick. Its made me decide to go raid with SSD's, Just have to find 2 good ones at 250 Gigs. Thanks for the fast shipping Amazon!
Summary: Ive been a computer technician 15 years and have been gaming and building performance PCs all along. Ive built some SSD systems and have always had great luck with OCZ SSD. So i decided to try out the caching solution in my TV PC because it was a cheap way to get a nice boost. Ive read some poor reviews especially in regard to power failures or unexpected shutdowns causing the disk to require repair.
Summary: I've owned this cache drive for roughly one month now and I can say without a doubt that it has improved my system dramatically. Cool boot takes half the time, programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator load significantly faster, my whole system has perked right up. I updated firmware to 2.22 out of the gate, downloaded the latest version of Dataplex, and was up and running within 15 minutes of installation.
Summary: Absolutely no issue with this product or the install. I foresee a huge productivity gain i.e. The responsiveness of the puters have more than doubled. Programs open faster, files open faster and browsers work faster for research, huge pay back Regards, Rob Williams MEP Precision Detailers
Summary: I put this device into service on 4/25/12, after purchasing it from Amazon. I'm happy with the noticable performance boost to date, and expect a little more improvement as the software "learns" my habits. Installation was uneventful. I would recommend that you view the video on the OCZ site prior to starting, as it gives a nice view of the overall installation. unlike a previous reviewer, I had no difficulty finding the updated drivers.
Summary: I am a power user. My main PC is an i7-950 Xeon W3550 with 12 GB of triple channel ECC DDR-1600 and a 2 GB Quadro 4000. Needless to say, any limitations I have in day-to-day use are generally due to the relatively slow HD. I installed the Synapse about 2 months ago and have been amazed at the results. My boot times have dropped from 3 full minutes to 20-25 seconds flat, from pressing the button to having all my start up applications loaded and ready to go.
Summary: Works as advertised. Boot time is almost cut in half, game load times vary from 50-30% less, & the overall system just responds faster. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade an existing system with minimal effort, or simply wants SSD performance w/ HDD capacity.
