Disapointed, but still usable
3 January 2013
Summary: I bought this thinking i would have 64 GB of free space to use on the SSD, and it could possibly host my OS as my first SSD. though upon installation, it was only a 32GB drive, with an additional 32GB saved for "Dataplexing".
Summary: Possible sources of issue: software not designed for Win8 (duh!), need to do a clean install of Win8 to correct any issues that were caused by the upgrade, or unreliable SATA connections on my mobo. I am withholding further judgement (and use!
Pros: Definitely sped up my system, even though I have a RAID setup with striping and only have SATA II (3.0GB/s) connections on my mobo. I plan to hang onto this to see what it can do when I upgrade my mobo. No issues when running it on Win7 Home Premium x86.
Cons: Upgraded my system to Win 8 Pro when it was released, and have had problems running it ever since. The software (Dataplex) does not support Win 8 yet, although they are promising that it will soon. I can get it to run occasionally when I install the software in Win7 compatibility mode, but the dr...
Be very warned, some boxes say 64M but 32G comes in them!
TB-10 Pilot "George", Amazon

Summary: The amazon description or OCZs quality control stinks. The box I received clearly states 64Meg but the drive is a 32 gig drive. I wanted to make sure it just wasn't initialized wrong by Windows so I hooked it up to my Sata3 port on my MacBook Pro and used Disk Utility to init it so both exFat and...
Summary: if I could use 32 gig for my own cache and the other 32 for dataplex then this might be worth it if you're storing large video or game files then a traditional SSD might not work for you that being said i'd rather have SSD boot drive with windows 8 and use this thing for page file and cache to try...
Pros: I did get some performance increase but I can't tell how much boot time is 15 seconds on a win7 64 bit pro -it was cheap
Cons: this is not what I thought it was -you can't use RAID -had to reformat to get it to work -no drives over 2.5 TB no space left for me to use for my own caching can't store a game image or switch my page file over i'd like to be able to write blu-ray files to it
Pros: In an earlier review I could not find anything good about the Synapse drive due to the difficulties with the Dataplex software. While my opinion about the product has not changed, I would like to take this opportunity to complement OCZ Technology . . . I have just received a check from the compan...
Summary: I purchased this drive to install on a Vista Home Premium machine. The physical install went well enough, but the downloaded software refused to install, declaring I had the wrong operating system.
Summary: I went back and searched their support site and the documentation. The ONLY place the limitation of boot drive is mentioned is AFTER you register the Dataplex software in their help file. Pretty unacceptable as far as I'm concerned.
Pros: Good for people without SSD boot drives...
Cons: ...bad for people that have SSD boot drives. What they don't mention is that the caching software ONLY supports the boot drive, and no secondary drives. I've had it an hour and already filling out RMA information.
