Summary: I loved this drive right when I bought it, the drive is blazing fast right out of the box. If you read some reviews you will see it's not easy to set up, and the driver support isn't great but if that was the only problem to deal with I wouldn't mind. My problems started about 5 months into getting the drive. All the sudden my OS would start to slow down, I would get a blue screen now and then, and then the OS would just fail to load.
Summary: I get a Performance rating of just 7.6 on a win7 64bit i7. This is effectively your C drive so and you know how quickly that fills up. It plugs into your PCI slot, so you need a bit of effort (and a floppy disk for the raid drivers) to tell it that this card is now your C drive. SSD drivers don't last as long a standard drives - not found this to be true. Runs cool and is a tiny card.
Summary: This drive could fail on you after few days, a week or even before you started using it, just search online, happened to so many people. also installing and configuring it is not so simple, check that your mother board support it, make sure that you have enough free time to install and configure it. In my case the bios detected the drive, but I could not install the windows driver, it said that the device cannot be started.
Summary: Using a motherboard from revodrive's approved list, the drive will not install their own driver on their required OS , windows 7. It uses a 7 year old scsi driver, and will not update. The advertised performance is a lie. Do not accept weasel excuses from them. Overpriced, spend your money elsewhere.
Summary: I use the drive to boot win7. Setting it up was painless with the clear and simple instructions. (All things for computers should be this good). In comparison, win7 boots faster than the time it takes to run bios and self check (on Asus Rampage IV Formula MB). It saves me time everyday. I use a 3D drafting program with the a auto save feature. The drive is so fast, I don't realize that the program is saving the file I am working on.
Summary: I just ordered this drive and installed it as a data drive in Windows with no problems. I get about 1200 MB/sec read and 1300 MB/sec write with ATTO. It is really speedy and is allowing me to really clean up my case and make it look much nicer. It replaced, and is faster than a 8 drive RAID 0 array, and boots much quicker under Win 7 x64. I would definitely recommend this drive to anyone looking for an upgrade.
