Summary: Has worked perfectly for well over a year. Recognized without problems by both win XP and 7. House gets cold on winter mornings. Lightning storms have not damaged it. It has always worked great. In contrast, several mechanical hard drives I tried didnt last long.
Pros: very reliable, not affected by temperature swings, not damaged by lightning (no direct strikes, but many hits within a mile.
Summary: I rolled these out in 2 companies for developers in both Macs and Windows machines. Surprisingly I did not get a single lemon. As a rule of thumb I updated the firmware before I imaged them and I must have rolled out perhaps 50 of these already with complete success. They are very speedy, Great value and have had no issues with Lion, Mountain Lion, Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8.
Summary: I just needed a small/cheap SSD for my Media PC and this was perfect. The PC is mainly for streaming or playing media over our network so I didn't need a lot of space. This isn't the fastest SSD around but compared to my old HDD, it is amazing. If you primarily want a drive to speed up the boot process and don't need a ton of space, this is a great little drive.
Summary: Worked without a hitch on Windows 7 Home Premium. Installed and worked on Windows 7 Home Premium without having to install any drivers/software - Plug and Play. Just wanna leave a review to say that despite reading all the negatives and worrying about this drive having those firmware problems, and Windows freezing described by so many posts, it seems that the new batches don't have those problems (at least not for me).
Summary: I got an Apricorn Velocity Solo to mount this wonderful SSD in my Q6700 socket 775 motherboard as a raw new drive. I got the 180 Gig drive since I had planned to Update the OS from Vista to Win 7. The update to Win 7 and all the Win 7 updates were three times faster than a spinning platter SATA drive. Boot times are twice as fast and web surfing is much; much faster!
Summary: Swapped out the OEM hard drive in a three year old laptop with an AMD V series older CPU. After installing Windows 8, the laptop is now nearly as fast as our other $1000+ newer laptop with an SSD and an Intel i5 processor.
Summary: Perfect to upgrade my 3 year old Mac book pro. Put this drive in a holder, and used a program to clone my existing drive over to it. Opened my Mac book pro, pulled out the old drive, plugged this one in. Then I turned on the computer and it worked with no additional setup. Took about 2 hours to clone and less than 10 minutes to install the drive. Easy Peasy.
Summary: This is the best upgrade I have done for my computer in years. You do not need to get a new processor or motherboard, just upgrade your hard-drive to SD. this is a great hard-drive for the money. It is fast. Boot time cut in half. I have this as my boot drive and then have a 500 GB for my data.
