OCZ Agility 3 240 GB

5 July 2011
  • Summary: I would describe the OCZ Agility 3 as the typical mid-range SATA 6 Gbps SSD. It offers a decent 10% performance upgrade over "old" Sandforce based drives which support only the 3 Gbps interface. Compared to the more expensive Vertex 3 Series, we see a performance reduction of 10% again. Since the Vertex 3 costs over 10% more, the Agility 3 offers slightly better price/performance, too.
  • Pros: Good performance, SATA 6 Gbps support, Supports TRIM, 3 year warranty, Nice looking, rugged metal case, 3.5" adapter included
  • Cons: Only 10% faster than 3 Gbps SSDs, Needs SATA 6 Gbps controller to perform best, Can not win price/performance

OCZ Agility 3 240GB Solid State Drive Review

28 June 2011
  • Summary: Final Thoughts Just like in the case of previous versions, the Agility 3 is the little brother to the Vertex 3 .  While both drives use the same controller the Agility 3 uses “cheaper” 25nm NAND chips.  This chips are less expensive to produce and are not as powerful as the ones that are in the Vertex 3.
  • Pros: Great performance, Price compared to the Vertex 3, 3 year warranty
  • Cons: None that I found
