Reviews and Problems with OCZ Vertex 3 Max Series (VTX3MI-25SAT3)

Worked well for a month
1 February 2014
Summary: Worked well for a month then failed. OCZ were MOST UNHELPFUL with warranty, received it back after a couple of months, NOT FIXED. Very disappointed... Have been buying INTEL since then...... no failures, no problems. Note... Other OCZ SSD's that I have are working OK.
Summary: I had one of these for about a year. I restored a Windows 7 x64 disk image from a few days previous and the SSD failed catastrophically. The PC would not even get past the BIOS recognition of the SSD. Unplugged it, put the image on a mechanical hard drive and all was well.
Summary: I have a 2012 13" MacBook Pro (OS X 10.8.3) and I bought the 240GB Vertex 3Max IOPS SSD drive for it. Firmware is latest version with 2.25. Besides random freezes and reboots, I can consistently get a forced reboot just by connecting an external drive to it and doing a file transfer.
Summary: I want to make this short. Anyone considering buying this SSD please don't. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF from nightmare I have gone trough! It was working really fine until 2 weeks, I suddenly started getting bsod and random freezes.
Summary: This product is as bad as everyone says it is, and OCZ should pull it from the market. It doesn't matter what version of the firmware you have 2.02, 2.06, whatever, it just BSOD's all the time.
BSOD and freezes, new firmware helps but there's a catch...

Summary: I bring you this review after almost 2 months of ownership. So everything worked great for the first couple months of use. Then all of the sudden I noticed freezes and bsod, neither of which I had ever gotten on this system before.
Summary: PROS: Crazy fast. . . . WHEN it works. CONS: This drive is incredibly unstable. Depending upon the firmware upgrade, I've either gotten freezes, BSOD's, or a multitude of memory errors from my various applications. (At least 8 or 9 times a day.) Particularly when running hi-def video resolutions.
Summary: Went through 2 of these before giving up and switching to another brand (Patriot Wildfire). The first worked fine most of the time, but often it would not come back up after the laptop had been powered off or suspended.
Summary: My God, after a month of reading reviews from ocz forums, macrumors or any other forum you can google with ocz vertex 3 macbook pro 2011 17. I had no idea what finally possessed me to buy this garb*ge.
