Summary: Just what I was promised. I have an old laptop. Its a thinkpad but its still a good laptop. All I needed was a new battery and hard disk. Thinkpads will not accept a HDD unless it's designed specifically for the thinkpad. Since my t60 came out in 2007.
Summary: This hard drive (43N3423) was recommended for the T61 on Lenovo.com. I cloned my old HD using the Apricorn DriveWire kit, then swapped the drives. Re-started the T61 and the new drive roared to life, installing a bit of software for itself. With this easy upgrade I have 3 times the original storage so I'm a happy camper.
Summary: I am not familiar with the insides of a modern laptop computer, so this was a "learning experience". This purchase is a replacement for the smaller, slower hard drive that came standard in my 2006 or 7 year old Lenovo T-61 ThinkPad. The new HD arrived well packaged, and with sufficient written instructions. An initial Disk Check inspection after installation of the drive showed it was in perfect shape, and it has been running in near silence for almost a month.
Summary: This Toshiba hard drive was purchased in January 28th 2013 for a Thinkpad Edge laptop and worked fine until three weeks ago (March 5, 2014). All of a sudden it would not boot and received an error code 0000. I contacted the manufacturer (Toshiba) and was told that the hard disk is owned by IBM-Lenovo and I had to contact them. I was transferred from IBM to LENOVO and to three different departments and finally was told that the laptop is out of warranty!!!
Summary: I installed it in my ThinkPad T61 and installed Windows 7. It replaced the original 143 GB hard drive that had Windowx XP; I got the "NTLDR missing" message one day and I wasted a lot of time and some money trying to repair.
