easy to install and faster than HDD

  • Excerpt: This survey is a pain to fill out. The comments I had filled out disappeared when I tried to submit the review. I installed th SSD into a Toshiba Satellite laptop. It is quiet and faster than the HHD it replaced. The cloning software worked well. The drive worked well in the laptop for a week, then I began having a blank sceen problem. I think it is the lid close switch and is not at all related to the solod state drive.
  • Pros: Easy To Install, Fast, Highly Compatible, Quiet
  • Cons: Expensive

  • Excerpt: I Provide Computer Support to small businesses & individuals. After using them myself for few years now, I blindly offer money back within 30 days to customers for these upgrades. Install these SSDs as OS Drives and keeping traditional as their Data/Backup drive on Desktop pc provide excellent value for money as well as amazing improvement of performance.
  • Pros: Easy To Install, Everything, Fast, Highly Compatible, Quiet, Reliable
  • Cons: None so far

New Life for Old Laptop

Gene, Staples

  • Excerpt: I purchased the Kingston SSDnow V200 expressly for use in an older, slow low-end Lenovo laptop. Installation was easy and quick: remove original hard drive from laptop, remove it from the the carrier bracket, install it into the USB adapter/case provided with the kit, then install the V200 into the carrier bracket, and install into the laptop. Finally, plugged the original (now a USB drive) into the laptop with the included USB cable.

  • Excerpt: Install the unit to use as an operating system drive. After setting the bios up and installing the operating system the unit, the computer booted up fast.Only wished I had brought a bigger drive even though the drive should be big enough.Solid state drives are very quiet with no mechanical parts. I would definitely recommend this drive to anyone.

  • Summary: I got this SSD for my Father's computer. It is decently fast and boots up far faster then his old mechanical drive. The price being excellent was what originally convinced me to purchase this for him but the performance is not too far off my Crucial M's and he will not be gaming with it so it is more than great for his usage.
  • Pros: Excellent price and decent performance
  • Cons: A bit slower then some SSDs

  • Summary: With prices for 120GB SSDs falling below $70 (on sale) it would be negligent not to pick one up. Even if this is more of a mainstream class drive the performance is still very good. The system feels crisp and everything runs better. ATTO benchmark software confirms the performance in both reads and writes matching manufacturer's specification. Great value if it lasts.
  • Pros: Excellent value for a SATA3 drive, very good read speed, comes in complete kit with brackets, migration software, external case and USB cable, SATA power and data cables, screws
  • Cons: Not the fastest in writes among the same class of drives, but reasonable
