Faulty

G3, Amazon
26 July 2013
  • Summary: The unit I received formatted okay and cloned okay (I thought), but it would simply not operate properly. It would begin to function and then slow and grind to a halt with intermittent disk access. Can't give it anything but one star, although a working unit would get 4 (cost/GB not great).

Disappointed

Orville W., Newegg
28 February 2012
  • Summary: If it sounds to good to be true.......... Good luck you other rebate customers. Just be prepared to be disappointed!
  • Pros: I have nothing positive to say at this time.
  • Cons: While building up a new computer and in need of a hard drive, a friend suggested Newegg. As a first time visitor I spent hours getting familiar with the site I was drawn to an 80 GB Intel SSD that was clearly to small for my needs and out of my budget but seemed to be clearly advertised with a su...

Good While It Lasted

Earl H., Newegg
5 July 2011
  • Pros: Fast as you will need for years but died after 7 months.
  • Cons: Died after seven months. Intel's RMA is like a black hole. They have yet to acknowledge receipt of the faulty drive after a week. Intel's website and customer service is horrible.

It's somewhat fast...and then it crashes on you.

Chris L., Newegg
26 June 2011
  • Summary: I don't know if I just got unlucky with this. However, I have owned several Kingston SSD's and nothing like this ever occurred before.
  • Pros: It is faster than my HDD.
  • Cons: It worked okay at first, but then it developed bad clusters over and over. Each time, I had to use windows to mark parts of the drive as unusable. Eventually, it wiped out my folder with all of my photos. I really should have made a backup of this folder, but I didn't and now 9/10's of my photos ...

numerous errors and system instability.

Collin Klopfenstein, Amazon
20 April 2011
  • Summary: I bought this to replace my RAID 0 boot drive array but ended up returning it after it caused my system to crash. Periodically on reboot the drive would also not appear as a boot-able drive to my motherboard as well.

Failed after a few days **new update**

David J. Carpenter, Amazon
19 April 2011
  • Summary: I purchased the Intel SSD because I had read about nothing but problems with other brands. What a mistake. I installed Windows 7 64-bit as a fresh install and it would constantly freeze or blue screen.

Failed after a week

Aaron W., Newegg
16 April 2011
  • Summary: Now I have to decide if I want to try this SSD again or go for something more reliable.
  • Pros: Very fast drive, as advertised.
  • Cons: Failed after only a week of regular use. Fortunately, it failed so quickly that I still had my old drives ready to be dropped back in.

Unfortunate failure

michael g., Newegg
13 April 2011
  • Summary: DON'T BUY ANY SSD yet! YOU ARE GOING TO BE SORRY IN THE LONG RUN. IT IS NOT A PROVEN RELIABE TECH! I work in the tech industry (13 years) and closely follow hardware trends
  • Pros: Everything SSD related - low heat, speed, seek times, transfer rate, etc.
  • Cons: SSD technology. I got my first BSOD and have done one boot since the lockup and I received a notice telling me the hard drive is failing - backup files and replace hard drive. Before buying I read probably 400+ reviews and I decided to go with the most expensive of them all, which had the least #...

Drive has good reviews but......

eugene c., Newegg
3 April 2011
  • Summary: I hope I can get another one or a free upgrade LOL so now just running my OS on WD 1TB cavier Black, till I get the SSD back. Once I get a new one in I'll write another review
  • Pros: 120G SSD!! made by intel so shouldn't have any issue with the P67 chipset.
  • Cons: Once I installed it to load the OS, the BIOS wouldn't recognize it. Tried 5 different SATA cables and every SATA port on the Mobo. Mobo picked up the Blue Ray drive on all the ports and with all the same cables. Took it to local computer shop to have it tested. Turns out it was DOA. Shipping back...
