Good SSD drive with one little gotcha that is fixable.

Summary: Intel 520s have an issue, and it bit me... Its due to the sandforce design and it effects Intel and other SSD drives [not all, just ones using sandforce]. You have to disable the power options for "Hard disk" -> "Turn off hard disk after" -> NEVER [set it this!]. There are more tricks you can do as well, setting the HIDM+DIPM to "standard" also. Search the internet and you can find exact answers and step by step instructions on the resolution.
Summary: The Five year warranty in a industry where two and three are common really stands out for me. Most people will upgrade prior to the expiry of the warranty anyway. I have had another for a week now I picked up off a bitcoin store so I ordered another from NCIX to fit my steam library.
Summary: Pros: What they say about installing a SSD in an older SATA II computer is true -- it can rejuvenate the old machine and make it a joy to run. The low latency, lightning fast random access times and a maxed out data transfer rate are well worth the time and cost. I bought an Intel SSD for several reasons besides the reliable brand name. The drive is fast, technologically current and the included Intel® SSD Toolbox maintenance app knows XP.
Summary: Only one reason I didn't give 5 stars: - No detailed instructions about how to activate raid volume acceleration. Once you realize that it has to go into the same raid ports it works. Otherwise it won't show in Intel software disk management. I will try maximized mode once I get confidence.
7200 rpm Win XP 32 Bit pro to Win 7 64 Bit Pro SS Intel MB should've been a faster ungraded system?

Summary: 7200 rpm Win XP 3 2Bit pro to Win 7 64 bit Pro SS Intel MB should've been a faster ungraded system? Somewhat disappointed these two upgrades are not faster than I expected, but system freezes up less than before. Video rendering is faster, and heavy apps run better, but normal stuff/boot-up seems the same. Explorer to Chrome browser was a much better, Free upgrade.
Summary: Quick, silent, low energy and heat. Only issue I have with it is that it came completely unformatted/partioned and I've still got some issues with booting from it as a stand alone drive. A setup disk would have been handy.
Summary: Great way to speed up your system. Once I installed Win7 and all of the necessary drivers and software my system is ready to go in about 12 seconds. Comes with some nice software to manage your disk. I was unable to transfer my existing drive to this ssd due to my lack of knowledge regarding cloning software. My old hdd was a GPT disk which most of the free cloning software do not like to copy.
