Intel 520 Series 240GB Review

28 May 2012
  • Excerpt: For every season, there is a spin. Intel’s first consumer SSDs, the X-25M series, didn’t have the fastest performance, but they gained a reputation for reliability. We had high hopes for Intel’s 320 Series SSDs, which turned out to be really great 3Gb/s SATA drives, at a time when everyone else was shipping 6Gb/s drives. When Intel did ship a 6Gb/s SATA drive, the 510 Series, it used a Marvell controller, not an Intel one.
  • Pros: Fast SF-2281 controller and 25nm NAND; Intel reliability.
  • Cons: $50 more expensive than near-identical drives from Patriot and OCZ.

  • Excerpt: On paper the new Intel 520 Series appears to be just another Team SandForce release like several of the products we've looked at for the last thirteen months. The SF-2000 Series controllers hit media testing labs in December 2010 and client drives based on the consumer SF-2281 were on display at CES in 2011. Around the same time we started hearing about a high performance Intel SSD based on SandForce's first SATA III controller.

Intel SSD 520 Series 240GB Retail Solid State Drive Bundle Review

Futurelooks
6 February 2012
  • Summary: The Intel SSD 520 breaks through setting new SATA6 performance standards due to three important features: High quality synchronous NAND, a more mature controller and more polished firmware. It’s obvious Intel engineers made the right choice holding back Cherryville so they could tune everything right down to the firmware. This allows consumers to be able to plug and play with little to no fuss.

Intel 520 Series 240GB (Raid 0 update) SSD Review

KitGuru
9 February 2012
  • Excerpt: 1 Flares 1 Flares × A few days ago we looked at the latest Solid State Drive from Intel – the 520 series, codenamed ‘Cherryville’. The drive is built around ‘compute quality’ 25 nanometer NAND flash memory and offers a claimed maximum sequential read speed of 550 MB/s. It claimed our top award earlier this week, thanks to the class leading performance and reassuring 5 year warranty.

Intel 520 Series 240 GB

elektroniktest.dk
16 August 2013

  • Pros: top Verarbeitung, extrem flott, niedriger Stromverbrauch, üppige Ausstattung
  • Cons: teurer als OCZ Vertex 3
