Failed after first month

Michael R., Newegg
29 January 2013
  • Pros: Worked decently for a month
  • Cons: This SSD failed just after 1 month of light use. Newegg would not accept it for warranty replacement, so I had to go through Intel's slow process myself. I really don't want a replacement for a hard drive that failed so quickly and easily, how can I trust it with my data?

POC just like 520

Matthew R., Newegg
21 January 2013
  • Summary: I used to trust Intel. Last SSD I bought before this was the X25-M and had no problem. Now I get cursor spinning in windows 7 for 5-6 seconds at random doing nothing. I can't OC my memory any more, same with the other 2 systems. Sandforce is horrible and Intel's attempt to fix it failed.
  • Pros: Intel tool box.
  • Cons: Freezing issue with apple and windows based PC's/Laptops. Reset my OC in my system that's been running it for 1 1/2 years strait. Tried it in another system with same specs and OC and it reset that one too. It will not let me overclock my memory any more. I tired it on a 3rd system with and the s...

Freezes up even with all fixes

David S., Newegg
15 January 2013
  • Summary: Lenovo H430 desktop. Imaged the HD, aligned the drive using Intels/Acronis drive align. Things looked fine a while then I would get random lockups in Chrome. Searched the web that said I should: - disable LPM and DIPM - update to latest RST drivers - update motherboard chipset drivers Did all the...
  • Pros: Price
  • Cons: Freezes up frequently for at least 30 seconds at a time.

Not as good as I spect

Juan A., Newegg
27 December 2012
  • Summary: Technical Data: Snow Leopard v. 10.6.8 Processor Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 Memory: 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Other Toughs: IT for 13+ years
  • Pros: The only pro is the price
  • Cons: I was specting more from Inte. If you are going to install this product on a Mac, don't bother, get another brand. I got this SSD because I need more space, I was using a Kingston HyperX 3K SH103S3B/120G purchased at Newegg, and I never have any kind of problem.I install this Intel SSD on my Macb...

Sometimes it boots...

Patrick T., Newegg
12 December 2012
  • Summary: Don't buy this ssd it's not worth the problems, buy a Samsung ssd instead. I know I wish I did. If it keeps giving me even more problems I'm going to try to RMA it but I really can't be without a computer right now.
  • Pros: It's faster than a HDD when it works
  • Cons: This drive boots sometimes and sometime doesn't even show up in the bios. The only way I've been able to boot to it is to use Windows 7 boot repair.

Junk!!! Freeze and Freeze and

Noel B., Newegg
12 December 2012
  • Summary: After researching on the web, other people are having the same problem.. Intel hasnt released a fix and until they do i would seriously not recommend this product to anyone. I chose this based on the good reviews.... wont rely on the reviews anymore... research online....
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: 1 out of 8 successfull attempts to load vista 64. Tried on another computer and had same problem. Tried loading XP and had same problem. Drive would freeze up during install. The one succesfull install took over an hour. After getting past the login screen after several long minutes the the drive...

Blue screen of death on every resume from sleep

Anonymous, Newegg
3 December 2012
  • Summary: (1) Due to Adobe's ruthless DRM, Photoshop will not clone over. Be sure to deactivate Photoshop online before you do anything. Then you can reinstall from media after cloning and reactivate. (2) Intel's Data Migration Software is actually made by Acronis.
  • Pros: Good value and performance if not for the issue noted in the title. On incompressible data (AS SSD), the Intel 330 is 4x faster than my laptop hard disk on sequential reads/writes, and 20x faster on random 4k reads/writes.
  • Cons: BSOD on every attempt to resume from sleep. Do a keyword search for "sleep" on every version of the Intel 330 SSD, and you'll find users having this problem (except on the 60 GB version). I tried cloning two times and got the BSOD issue on both. I also tried a clean install of Win7 Pro after a se...

Constant random freezing.

Richard L., Newegg
30 November 2012
  • Summary: Paid a premium for Intel's reputation in reliability. Completely unfounded in the case of their SSD's (330 or 520 series). And the utter lack of support disgusts me.
  • Pros: Well, it's an SSD.
  • Cons: Shipped with an unfinished bottom surface which looks damaged. Apparently, that's "normal", even though Intel is one of the priciest SSD's. None of my other computer components, name-brand or generic, have such an ugly unfinished surface. Besides the cosmetics, it does not function properly. That...

Not Impressed!!

Anonymous, Newegg
28 November 2012
  • Summary: I now have to tell a client that his rig will not be completed until who knows when which makes me look very unprofessional. First time in 15 years that I am going to tell this to a client.
  • Pros: None. Didn't even hook it up
  • Cons: Un-boxed what I thought was a new ssd but when I looked at it, the back side of it was all worn and there were noticeable scratches around every screw hole. Obviously this was used before! NOT IMPRESSED! There is no rating less than 1 egg which is too bad!
