Came quickly, Works fine

Harlan McGhan, Amazon
19 June 2013
  • Summary: This isn't 5 stars simply because the durability/robustness/longevity of this drive remain TBD. But so far, so good. Does everything I hoped for when I bought it.

Excellant price

Zeke, Amazon
17 March 2011
  • Summary: This replaced a failed hard drive in my security system. Toshiba hard drives rate very well on several websites, have same brand in my laptop also. The cheapest by far on any other site I've seen. Arrived quick. Seen elsewhere for up to $200. Amazon is great again, Thanks. PS. I'm watching for one of your tv's to come down to last months price, then I'll buy. $60 cheaper on another site.

Great Value, Quality Unit

John K., Amazon
2 March 2011
  • Summary: Bought this as a mirror drive for my home office PC. Read many reviews covering the competition's offerings and concluded that the tables have turned since the days of the old "Deathstar". Seems to be some quality-control issues with many of the current models from Seagate and WD, so I made the leap to Hitachi. Looks like a good decision so far. The unit installed easily, and was recognized by BIOS at first boot.

Best bang for your buck. Cliche enough?

J. Li, Amazon
11 February 2011
  • Summary: Got it off ebay when I destroyed my old hdd. Very impressed. It is fast, has 16mb of ram, and quiet too. I have had no problems with it. Compared to the Seagate Momentus XT hybrid drive that replaced it, there was not enough improvement to warrant seagate's 2x price premium over this one. Sure, after a while, boot seems to be faster. But that is about it. Window's own tests gave them both identical ratings.

No complaints so far

karaoke "music lover", Amazon

  • Summary: I wanted a 500GB drive for my OS' "C" drive. This one was a good price and I've had good luck with Hitachi drives. I have a 1TB Hitachi for storage and have ordered another one. I will have plenty of storage and lots of backup. You never get enough backup to save your important data. I'm a big Hitachi fan. 08/08/2010 I purchased another one of these for another PC. It is working great.
