Came quickly, Works fine

Harlan McGhan, Amazon
19 June 2013
  • Summary: This isn't 5 stars simply because the durability/robustness/longevity of this drive remain TBD. But so far, so good. Does everything I hoped for when I bought it.

It works.

Matthew J., Newegg
6 March 2010
  • Summary: I'm using 2 of these in the same Computer, the first one I had had no problems at all but this one did. Not sure why, but it worked out after about an hour of persistence.
  • Pros: It works fine, it's fast enough and holds enough. Nothing special.
  • Cons: Doesn't install itself and for some reason it had problems formatting, and partitioning. Not sure why I guess it's Windows 7 64 bit. But I eventually got it to work.

Great for the Price

Daniel L., Newegg
7 October 2009
  • Summary: Great storage drive for media or for dual OS booting. It hasn't given me any problem in the least. Even if it dies its still better than having to buy a worse quality drive at Best Buy for $100 or more. Every Hardrive eventually dies, thats just the way is goes.
  • Pros: -Great price, got mine for $50 shipped. -More than enough space for most people -Snappy load for both Vista and Windows 7 -isn't loud or noisy at all
  • Cons: It isn't a Velociraptor or a Intel SSD but its a good upgrade if your using an aging IDE 160 or 250.

  • Cons: Heat. These drives get REALLY hot after a few hours of writing.

So far so good

Mr. C., Newegg
16 August 2009
  • Summary: I have been using a similar drive(different model no.) for a couple years as an USB external back up drive---no problem! Despite the salesman suggestion of getting a Seagate one for another $5.00 more, I upped for this one.
  • Pros: Good price; faster than the 3 years old SATA I Maxtor 100GB drive it replaces; not very hot; fair amount of cache
  • Cons: not as quiet as the 3 years old SATA I Maxtor 100GB drive

Bought 2 for RAID

Jacob G., Newegg
3 August 2009
  • Summary: 900 Gb Windows 100 Gb Linux.
  • Pros: I bought two of these to set up in RAID on my computer. I dual-boot in windows/linux and the hard-drives run flawlessly. Load times aren't terrible for games and such.
  • Cons: Not as fast as they could be, especially under a RAID 0 configuration, and getting the dual-booting was a little work, but I suppose that had nothing to do with these drives.
