Summary: One of my desktop systems was starting to fail and had to repair win7 several times. Took an image just in case the drive failed. When the Hitachi arrived it was wrapped in two layers of sticky back bubble wrap and came via USPS. I did not think the packing was very good at the time. I disconnected all other drives on my desktop system, except for the failing system drive and the new Hitachi.
Summary: I bought this HD to put into a computer I was building in conjunction with a 250GB SSD. I installed windows and everything on the SSD fine, but when I went to connect this drive, it clicked and could not be detected by the BIOS. I am replacing it through amazon, we'll see if the new one has the same problem.
Summary: I bought six of these 7K3000 drives. Two were bad out of the box. They had a clicking sound and wouldn't mount. This is not a good statistic. This also makes me leery about the other four that I still have.
