The Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 is a hard drive that supports SATA 6Gb/s interface and comes in a capacity of 2TB. It has 512 sector size (variable, Bytes/sector) with a maximum areal density of 411 Gbits/square inch, 64 data buffer (MB), 7200 Rotational Speed (RPM), 1656 media transfer rate (Mbits/seconds, maximum), 600 interface transfer rate (MB/sec, max), and has a 1 in 1014 Error Rate (non-recoverable, bits read).

The Deskstar 2TB 7K3000 is Hitachi’s first hard drive that supports up to three terabytes of storage capacity and 7200 RPM performance in a 3.5-inch form factor. It also features a 6Gb/s SATA interface, 64MB cache buffer and allows users to leverage the benefits of the latest components and operating systems to deliver optimized performance and power-efficiency in systems. The Deskstar 7K3000 is also available in 3TB and 1.5TB models that accommodate existing systems, as well as new designs.
