Was marked refurbished...and was DOA!

Summary: Unfortunately I installed this drive, which I bought from OWC in a 24" iMac without testing it to be sure it was good (especially as it was labeled, much to my surprise, as "refurbished"...silly me as I got the computer all assembled and powered it up only to hear the scan back and forth as it struggled to perform its self test. Bummer.
Cons: Dead on arrival, issued 3 RMA's so far and all 3 have been dead on arrival. These are either extremely sensitive drives and shouldn't be shipped without fragile stickers, or Hitachi 'dropped the ball' during manufacturing.
Summary: We had great difficulty with this device. It stopped working within a couple of months. We have contacted the company several times but they have not been responsive. I had to purchase a completely new (and different!) product.
Summary: I bought this drive a few weeks ago. The first drive was dead on arrival (didn't spin up). I had it replaced but the replacement drive is now also failing with over 400 reallocated sectors after only less than 200 hours of use. Might be bad luck, but really can't recommend this drive.
Summary: I bought this drive in August 2010 for around £95 and has used it since in home desktop machine for file storage/torrenting. Yesterday, 2nd March 2012, it started giving me errors, so now I am forced to replace it. Fingers crossed the replacement arrives before this thing packs up. It has been used 24/7 for about a year, but nothing like enterprise environment. Really upsetting that a £95 drive can't even last 2 years under normal load!
Summary: I have just purchased this drive and it produces more noise when accessing data randomly than my 3 case fans plus CPU fan plus video card fan plus my other 3 HD's TOGETHER. What's worse, Hitachi simply removed the option to alter the AAM (Automatic Acoustic Management) parameters from their Feature Tool utility since its version 2.13.
