Good drive but very loud

Perecli Manole, Amazon
9 February 2016
  • Summary: Got this because of its reliability reputation. Good drive but very loud. I have 3 other drives in my system. All the others are virtually silent. I can't tell when they are reading/writing.

updated review - customer service made good

Topcattoo, Amazon
4 August 2014
  • Summary: Initial warrantee was misrepresented. Be sure to check added 2yr warrantee and pay a little more with this company because initially drives delivered were new but 2YRs old. However once I got to customer service they made good on promise and delivered new drives only 5 months old which is within...

Updated review

BG "Bob G", Amazon
2 August 2014
  • Summary: Per Western Digital. In addition this unit has been fired up a few times before I got it. It appears to be either used or refurbished. Either way, I paid for a new unit with a 5 year warranty and I didn't get it.**UPDATED** I notified the merchant of the issue on Sunday.

Used and mislabeled

BG "Bob G", Amazon
2 August 2014
  • Summary: This is a used and mislabeled product. I ordered & paid for a 2TB HGST Ultrastar because I wanted an enterprise level drive. This drive has all the correct labels & the serial number is PK1131P6GBPWEN with firmware MJ60A580 and drive identified as, "HGST HUS724020ALe640," but it comes up as 1 TB and...

If the price is too good to be true...

Aristotle, Amazon
30 June 2014
  • Summary: The drive works, and I'm keeping it. My computer experts suggest that if the drive is high quality, and works out of the box, it is not likely to fail within the warranty period, which, in this case, is 3 years through the shipper.

Richard Carnes, Amazon
6 June 2014
  • Summary: this is a drive pulled out of an external enclosure with no warranty should have spent the extra $5 at newegg and i would i have gotten a 3 year warranty. I blame amazon for this they should not let sellers tag something as OEM when it is a resale product that was modified and than sold as new I...

Repackaged, no 3 year warranty

William Tale "amazonaddicted", Amazon
12 April 2014
  • Summary: It was obvious they were repackaged. I checked their warranty and had less then 2 years. They are going back. I am spending a little more for the "kit" directly from Amazon.

NOT NEW, NO WARRANTY, THIS IS NOT EBAY

Adam Bacon, Amazon
12 April 2014
  • Summary: I just received the item today and checked the warranty on the HGST website. Sure enough, the manufacturer is telling me to return the drive to the point of sale. Last time I checked, this wasn't ebay... this is Amazon.
