Summary: I purchased this about a month ago for use as a back-up drive. It's the same as the HDD that came with my computer. It was easy to install and it works perfectly so far. . I have not experienced the clicking noise that some have complained about.
Summary: 14 months ago, I purchased an Iomega 1TB external hard-drive, even though many, many reviewers suggested a higher than average failure rate for external drives. In 30 yrs. I had never had a hard-drive crash on me, so I thought they might be over-reacting or just unlucky.
Summary: I allowed the Q&A to confuse me, and believed this was retail packaging, meaning it had cables included. It did not. So I ordered a cable set. . . delaying my install by a week. But once installed, the drive is quiet, fast, and worked flawlessly.

I backed up my entire system and it took quite a while for this to process but I had a lot of songs and several videos to...
Nice drive, but Amazon's packaging falls far short of expectations

Summary: As several prior reviewers have noted this is very noisy drive. However, the performance seems to be top notch (e.g., 125 MB/S). Hopefully, the noise isn't a long term reflection on the drive's reliablity.
