Questionable model

truckerdan, Amazon
10 February 2013
  • Summary: I ordered 3 0F13180 drives. 2 worked; the other wrote data, but would not let me access it. This model is a single platter design, very light in weight. I have mostly used 0F10383 models, which are a multi-platter design. They have been trouble free for several years.

Gave it a 5 star rating in Dec 2010, but now is failing ? 7 months later

J. Osuna "Video Productions", Amazon
20 January 2011
  • Summary: Purchased it in December 2010 and gave it a 5 star rating on another reviw place, worked great from the "git go", was fast. After using it for 7 months, noticed it is little bit on the noisy side, but not a problem for me. It was very warm when it was operating. I was happy with it.

Not a retail one

shinn, Amazon
24 September 2010
  • Summary: I was expecting a retail hard drive like what it shows on the picture. However, I got an OEM drive with no retail box, no SATA cable, no manual, nothing. Although the drive works pretty well, I still consider Amazon doing a bad job presenting its items.

OEM Packaging...don't forget your screws and SATA cable!

Mike D, Amazon
13 September 2010
  • Summary: I have a Hitachi drive in my work laptop (Thinkpad T400) and it has worked just fine, so I didn't hesitate to buy this drive for my home computer especially because the price was reasonable.

  • Excerpt: purchased two:Mine's operating fine. Wife's is DOA. She didn't get around to employing it till nowadays--two months soon after obtain. NewEgg won't concern an RMA, so the dead drive goes back to Hitachi. For ็, a true bargain--if it performs.

  • Excerpt: The one particular drive that worked, does run well. great read and write speeds. 1 out of two drives arrived DOA. Not going to bother with returning it, not worth the effort. Not that large of a deal for me. I would say that 1 out of ten drives that I buy come DOA regardless of brand.

  • Excerpt: Was genuinely low cost (โ). Quickly. Great warranty. Trusted brand. LOUD. I replaced 2 500gb Western Digital drives with two of these. I mean wow. I can hear them grinding away while reading anywhere in my room, even with all the computer system fans (all 8) spinning.
