Summary: Well I've had this drive for about a 3 months still in the amazon box never opened it or anything. Today as I was about to install it I opened the box and the drive was all there was. I bought it because it was a great price and it also had all the accessories. Too late for me to say anything to amazon or the seller I just want to let people know that you might not get all that you are promised. As for the drive, it is really loud and writing speeds are average so yehap.
OEM- Incorrect model description and missing items

Summary: I did NOT get the retail product described. This is OEM (albeit mine had the same internal shock packaging as the retail package) but it does NOT come with cable, screws, or instructions. No idea if the warranty is equivalent, either. OEM products often have no or short warranties, whereas retail on this has 3 years.

Summary: This is NOT the item pictured! I am very disappointed with what I received. The picture clearly shows a boxed item with SATA cable and I received an OEM HDD only. Very misleading on the part of Amazon!!!!
Summary: I can't even review the actual drive because what I recieved was not the nicely packaged hard drive with all the accessories but a loose hard drive in a plain brown box, which I didn't even bother opening. After a little digging I realized it was an OEM hard drive. I have no problem ordering it like this(I would have just ordered the cable for [...] bucks), but when the actual website shows the full product and i get this.....

Summary: I bought this drive in late May this year (2010) and it already crashed yesterday. It worked only for less than three month. I called the Hitachi Technical support, they are very unhelpful and very rude. I don't know why other people rated this hard drive 4 stars. Don't buy it or you will feel very sorry.
Summary: The box came without the manual in the first place so I have no idea about the warranty, and I don't live in the US so basically I'm stock with a dead drive. It was working fine for about 22 days, then started to show I/O errors when writing, they started about 2 per week, then 3 per day. SMART says the drive will fail within 24 hours and backup my stuff. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone, also another Hitachi drive of 160GB SATA with some 3+ years started to fail too.
Summary: I ordered two of these units. However, I received two bare drives in static bags, devoid of "retail" packaging: no Hitachi box; no SATA cable; no mounting screws. I've uploaded a few photos of the shipment, a couple of OEM drives in Amazon boxes. Amazon did acknowledge the error and apologized. Apparently, they ran out of retail units, so some yahoo in the warehouse shipped a couple of OEMs instead.
