When you need to use SCSI, This works

JJJ, Amazon
31 May 2014
  • Summary: Hobbyist, not business. Server that is still quite viable, but needs SCSI U320 Drive. Checked SCSI/SSD MFG: $$$ and less bandwidth than Hard Drive! Checked SATA/SCSI MFG: Cannot support U320 Speeds... I'm left with one option... and this company filled that need, at a price my wife accepted!

Worst. Drive. Ever.

C. Smith, Amazon
27 July 2010
  • Summary: I've purchased 6 of these drives, and of those 4 have failed. Two of them died within 24hrs of being put into service. They are no longer available under the Fujitsu name, as a result of Toshiba purchasing Fuji's drive operations - however, I certainly will not be purchasing any enterprise-class...

Fujitsu drive business sold to Toshiba

Anonymous, Newegg
21 July 2010
  • Summary: I purchase these drive as a replacement for my Dell Poweredge 1750 servers with Perc 3/di raid, since these Fujitsu drives were part of the Dell drive offering for this server. However, I have found that Dell firmware updates for the Fujitsu MBA3300NC *do not* work on these drive, because according...
  • Pros: Fast drive, reasonable price.
  • Cons: I recently searched the Fujitsu tech support site and discovered that Fujitsu sold its drive business to Toshiba. The Toshiba support web site seems to offer little more than warranty replacement, with no sign of any firmware update support. A telephone call to the reference Toshiba tech support ...

Fast 'n cheap substitution to genuine HP

Chia H., Newegg
21 May 2009
  • Summary: Newegg rocks. If you are an old schooler like me and still stick with SCSI drives, shop no further. Buy this Fujitsu. My partner said this is the easiest job to replace failed drives on an Enterprise server and I couldn't say more. It rebuilt in two hours. Our jobs secured.
  • Pros: Compatible with all HP DL 380 G3. Actually I believe it is also compatible with other servers which require Ultra320 SCSI drives. No hiccups hot swapping a failed HP drives for half of the price. This is the best deal I can find from a reliable supplier.
  • Cons: Bare drive only and it doesn't come with the sled. You have to reuse the sled from the failed drive. I just said that but this is not a cons.
