Summary: Replacement drive for a laptop with a dead sata drive. Was easy to install, no changes to bios required on the 3 year old laptop. I don't notice any measurable speed increase, but the laptop only has 2GB of ram. The silence of an SSD is great for a laptop. Wish I took the plunge years ago.
Summary: Installed this with a data doubler into a MacBook Pro mid 2010 model. OSX and applications are running on this drive, while music and movies are stored on the old HDD. It's a great setup with fantastic speeds (11,5 times the read- and write speed that I had before, measured with Blackmagic disk speed test). If you have an older model than 2011, be sure to check the maximum SATA speed! Don't blow money on a 6Gb/s SSD if your setup will negotiate it down to 3Gb/s...
