Pretty Awesome

Terry T., Newegg
8 March 2012
  • Summary: Use one of these suckers as your boot disk if you've got the money to spare.
  • Pros: This was my first SSD, and I almost didn't get it while I was building my PC last year. I'm certainly glad I did. While I don't have much experience with solid state drives yet, my first one has proven to reinforce my confidence in these types of hard drives. Nearly a year so far, and going stron...
  • Cons: Aside from the common complaint concerning cost and capacity (yay unintended alliteration), I think you are still getting what you pay for.

Its a SSD...

Chris M., Newegg
1 February 2012
  • Pros: I have had this for about 10 months. Have had no problems. Works well!
  • Cons: Only wish I had gotten a larger SSD... The speeds also don't seam to be as fast as they should be, windows boot-up is about the same speed as two HDD in raid 0. next SSD I am getting will be one that plugs into PCIe slot has much faster read and write speeds (but do cost more)

Great SSD

Michael K., Newegg
1 November 2011
  • Summary: This is my 1st go around with an SSD, had it for 8 months so far and it works great, has not slowed down at all. Currently using it as a system drive and have all my programs installed on it (games & data are on a separate WD black drive). Plenty of room for Win 7. Very Happy!!
  • Pros: Very fast, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit boots in 10 seconds. Very fast seek time. No problems at all.
  • Cons: Nature of the beast, only 128 GB... Still expensive compared to other SSD drives.

Crucial M4 vs C300 and some need to know info

cmhguy1980, Amazon
9 September 2011
  • Summary: Let me first start out by saying taking on the project of upgrading your existing system to either hard drive will take an above average knowledge of hardware (disassembly and assembly of system) and software issues. Both of these drives are amazing, plain and simple. The performance unmatched.

SSDs are not quite ready for primetime.

Eric Jacobson, Amazon
29 August 2011
  • Summary: ** A little history (or "Why not to buy an OCZ SSD") ** I started my foray into SSD drives with an OCZ Agility 3 60GB. The first thing I noticed was the lightning-fast speed, followed by the silent operation. I was in love.

Awesome, solid choice. Especially without TRIM.

Matthew C., Newegg
16 August 2011
  • Summary: It's held on to solid performance even when mostly filled on a non-TRIM machine. It's not spot-on perfect, but it's been a very good performer for me. I have a number of different SSDs, and I'm considering getting another one of these.
  • Pros: Very good performance in all sorts of situations (small files, large files, random, streaming).
  • Cons: Not completely stellar performance, and I've had it drop out on me once (requiring a hard reboot of my late 2010 Unibody MacBook Pro 15").

Crucial SSD

Matthew S., Newegg
4 August 2011
  • Summary: Perfect drive to run my OS and a few programs that I use daily. Keep most files and non-daily programs on secondary 2Tb HHD.
  • Pros: FAST! Noticeable jump from my HHD.
  • Cons: Prices for SSDs still have a way to go.

First SSD purchase

THOMAS M., Newegg
3 August 2011
  • Summary: Ran freaking fast when I first installed the OS. After I put all the drivers on and transferred all my data it slowed down a little, but I'm still satisfied with the results.
  • Pros: Ran really fast when first installed. Doesn't falter in speed too noticeably over time.
  • Cons: No bracket to install into case.
