Summary: I should have done better research on this product. I did not pay attention that is a micro sata, which you need to buy ($10) interestingly on Amazon if you need it to fit a standard sata cables! Also, the reviews on the tech siters rank this really low since they have problems.
Summary: SSD NOT a cure all for backing up requirements. Just because it doesnt have moving parts doesnt mean it won't fail too. They do and this one did. Very disappointed
Pros: small, lightweight, easy to install. Bandwidth/throughput was fast -very nice.
Cons: It died at 13 months. Not a heat problem, no sign of issues, it just quietly passed away. At least with an ailing disk I sometimes got indications/noise that they were going. This just went "poof".
Summary: Crucial seems to know about problems where the drive stops being recognized and wants you to repeatedly power the drive up for 20min then disconnect for 30 seconds in the hope it will come back to life. If this is expected behavior for the drive, they need to work on their controllers and firmware.
Pros: Very fast performance
Cons: Not reliable. It failed with no warning after 9 months. The BIOS of my laptop doesn't see the drive.
Summary: The drive worked for 6 months and stopped working. I sent the drive back to Crucial and get a refurbished one which worked for 1 months and stopped working. I sent the drive back to Crucial and get a refurbished one.
Summary: I would highly recommend buying a drive from a different manufacturer.
Pros: Fast when it works.
Cons: This drive is such an unreliable piece of trash. I'm not sure if it's the drive itself or the firmware but these random 10 second pauses causing my system to freeze up gets on my nerves. Crucial knows this is a problem and have not fixed it which they probably won't. Firmware 006 was trash and so...
Pros: Boots Windows 7 64bit and launches apps and games very fast. Easy install. AHCI and Trim support.
Cons: Worked fine for the first few weeks then started random F4 BSODs in the first month. No boot device on restarts after a month. Most cold boots allow recovery and works for a few days running no load. Then a random drive lockup, computer freeze, or BSOD again.
Summary: The specs are great, I researched all the hard drives. Great price/value and performance (while it worked). However this drive had a critical failure after only 3 months. IT guy said it was the controller and ran it through some test. Lost 3 months of work.
Summary: I am happy with this drive, don't get me wrong. If I could have found the diagnostic, this would be a 6 egg-out of 5...
Pros: This drive is incredibly fast, and has for the most part been reliable in my Toshiba Qosmio X305. The drive scores a 7.8 in Windows 7x64. Although only a 128GB drive, I have a 1TB 7200RPM drive as the second drive (Also internal). Installing this drive has bought me another full year of usefulnes...
Cons: Occasionally, the system will not boot from this drive. I thought it was the computer, but I have had this happen with an identical drive in both my HP and my other Toshiba. Now, this drive is 7 months old, and I noted some issues with the filesystem. Performing a chkdsk revealed that Windows bel...
Pros: faster than light (screw Einstein) with only windows 7 no extras was 30-33 seconds boot, with everything else I use installed (specifically anti-virus) 35-38 seconds.
Cons: Had BSOD for 7 of my 9 months, finally the drive just crashed (not showing in post). When it finally showed back up (leave attached for an hour or so while pc is on.....tech support advice) my "former" system partition showed as "not initialized".
