Summary: The Crucial Adrenaline solid state cache only does one partition. This means best practices for separating data and programs, or windows piles of useless files and other programs, etc, are not useable. To the best of my knowledge the San Disk ReadyCache does any drive. I went to the SanDisk site but could not confirm this, just recall from 6 months ago. If I am wrong I have to edit this. Please reply if you find out otherwise.
Summary: If you do not use a SSHD, then this is the way to go. Adds about 50gb of cache for the most often used programs, all transparent to you. You will only notice the faster boot up, and the screens just pop on your monitor. Does not work with Win 8 as of 03/2014, but who cares about Win 8!
Summary: I have had one of these for about 3 years. Never was able to make it work correctly. It was intended for my Asus P5G41C-M LX system. Crucial said it was fully compatible. The board does not have AHCI which is required. Upon contacting them, I was told to run it in IDE. Doesn't make much sense to run Sata drives in IDE. I cut the loss and transferred the system to my Dell XPS 435T- 9000. Nothing but disaster. Slow, non responsive and constantly updating. Pulled it out.
Summary: I purchased this on newegg about 2 years ago. I have recovered my hard drive so many times I have lost count. The Crucial techs and the Dataplex techs were sending me the latest versions of firmware and software. However nothing has truely made it 100% workable. The latest version of Dataplex is a lot better about when it errors out, it lets you remove it during the bootup process. However it is still not ready for home users.
Summary: I bought this because I already had my hard drives and wanted to try to get a bit more speed out of the main one, especially since I didn't want to shell out a lot of money for an SSD. The boot times on my PC are definitely much better, great product, I'd say worth the price. Just to be clear, you can only use one of these on your whole system. You can't use one per hard drive.
Summary: What I love about this is that It is pretty much plug and play. You install the SSD Cache, Install the software, and it gets to work. Every startup gets a little faster. Everything gets snappier. I have a 2TB main HD and it used to take 2 minutes from login to a loading point where the computer is useable without programs loading everywhere. Now, it take about 45 seconds, from the time the "loading windows" shows up to the time that it is useable!
