Good drive, but know what your doing.

Carl S., Newegg
21 July 2012
  • Summary: I bought this from crucial website, why? Because you need to buy it from them directly to get their manufacturers warranty. Its like 10$ more there in general, but its a 3 year warranty.
  • Pros: -Drive has very good reliability in comparison with other caching drives on the market right now.
  • Cons: -A tad bit slower than some other caching drives (~85-90% performance compared to others) you do gain a lot more reliability though.

This Product Is Just Fine!

Linda I., Newegg
15 June 2012
  • Summary: Not sure what issues the reviewers that had bad experiences with the Adrenaline are doing wrong, maybe they just got faulty drives, maybe they are running Windows XP, maybe they are doing something else wrong. All I know is.. it works great for me and 87% of the other reviewers that bought it. 87% good reviews = good product.
  • Pros: The "Crucial Adrenaline" does exactly as advertised and works perfectly. I see just a "few bad reviews" (3 as of my review). All I can say is... "READ SPECS/REQUIREMENTS BEFORE YOU BUY SOMETHING"! It speeds up old mechanical drive access times, loads times (of Windows and Apps), etc. Takes a couple of runs to get to FULL performance. Teamed it up with an "old" 76gb WD Raptor (Sata-I / 150), now this old Raptor rocks. All my other systems have Intel SSD 520 series, whi...
  • Cons: I always read personal reviews b4 making a purchase decision, as it is helpful it determining the hardwares reliability & performance. However, lately alot of people are putting in "bad reviews" and giving the product a bad reputation, when it does'nt deserve one. So many people do not follow the sys. requirements and/or follow instructions, the product does'nt work correctly then, and they turn around and blame it on the product. First, if you have "WinXP", the "Adre...

  • Summary: Way to go Crucial!
  • Pros: Wow, this thing is amazing! Normally, my boot times were around 90 sec, but now they are 30ish. Also, everything else is super snappy, and I can literally feel a difference.
  • Cons: None so far

Use caution when installing Adrenaline

Amazon Customer, Amazon
6 June 2012
  • Summary: This product is a great concept and the Hardware appears to be solid BUT the software called Dataplex which interfaces the drive leaves a lot to be desired. As expressed by other reviewers, my installation went along perfectly and the Adrenaline came on line when I rebooted. I used it for a couple of days and enjoyed beautiful performance. The third day I went to a meeting leaving the computer on.

  • Summary: Turn on machine to fully operational in 30 seconds under Windows 7. Use primarily for gaming, noticeably faster in games or programs where limiting factor is file loading/reading. Will see if this performance keeps up for a year.
  • Pros: Very fast load speeds after files are moved into cache
  • Cons: only available as 64 gig disk (50 gig cache). May not be relevant, would like more information on effectiveness of larger cache.

This upgrade ROCKS!

Anonymous, Newegg
24 May 2012
  • Summary: It sped up (significantly) a velociraptor drive and system, windows POP up now. very noticeable.
  • Pros: This is a simple and clean upgrade to an already fast system. If it were slower it would be even more dramatic.
  • Cons: The firmware upgrade from crucial suggested in the documentation is buggy and not supported (why?) it didn't work and I bailed. I didn't take off an egg for that - but I thought about it.

Awesome :)

Mauricio G., Newegg
12 May 2012
  • Summary: Not sure why it only works with drives up to 2TB but it's not like windows 7 will boot from >2TB drives anyways. To boot my second 3TB drive I run linux either way.
  • Pros: Didn't even bother benchmarking... I have a giant monster pc, everything else was so much faster than my disk that my computer was sluggish no matter what. After installing this sucker, within less than 15 minutes and a reboot or two later this played better than a fresh windows install. Right to the desktop all icons loaded before it even shows up. All programs start instantly now. I was actually looking for a software version in the past that would do the same thing...
  • Cons: There's no cons. Hopeufully in the future they'll have a bigger version because i write to disk heavily so hopefully the nand flash will last.

A danger to any system

Nido, Amazon
30 April 2012
  • Summary: Let me start this review by saying I normally do not review products. However, I feel it is my duty to warn any potential customers that this item will wreck your hard drive. Continue reading for my story. I installed this product in my computer, following all instructions and after rebooting it kept coming up as disabled.

  • Summary: I am using 2 sata II 640 gig drives in a raid 0 array. adding the ssd adrenaline drive definitly boosted the system. it even increased the windows experience index on the hard drive rating from 5.9 to 6.1.
  • Pros: definatly speeds up opening programs. a good way of using existing magnetic drives with the boost of a ssd.
  • Cons: none yet
