Minor issues

Ian H., Newegg
24 December 2012
  • Summary: I use this drive in a thinkpad T510 with the most up to date bios
  • Pros: Excellent i/o speed, power consumption versus mechanical drive, gave a small but noticeable increase in battery life in my laptop. So far, I've had the drive for 6 months with minimal problems.
  • Cons: Occasionally, my laptop will refuse to boot saying 'hard drive initialization error', and I will have to restart it a few times. I haven't made any attempt to diagnose this, so I can't say if there is a problem with the drive versus the laptop's bios, however, it's a tad unsettling.

Very Fast

Michael S., Newegg
17 December 2012
  • Pros: I am using this as my main drive with Windows 7 and it is very fast. I recommend a SSD to anyone reading this.
  • Cons: I knocked an egg off because this died 6 months into using it. On a good note, Corsair was very quick in replacing it.

Update: 5.0.3 Seems to have Fixed the Pausing

Lorrie K., Newegg
15 November 2012
  • Summary: This is my 3rd review of this product. I wish there was a way to edit my previous reviews.
  • Pros: Corsair seems to have fixed the pausing with the release of 5.0.3
  • Cons: I had a lot of pausing with these 480GB SSDs. Since upgrading to 5.0.3 a week ago, I have not experienced the pausing.

Great SSD

Robert S., Newegg
28 September 2012
  • Pros: I previously had a 32gb Kingston SSD that failed on me within a few months. When I purchased this one not only did it run smoothly, but I didn't have any problems with hard drive space randomly disappearing either. It was also the same price as the 32gb so not only is it more reliable, but more i...
  • Cons: The metal mount it came with doesn't fit all the way in my case as well as I would have hoped and didn't include enough screws to make the ssd completely secure inside the case. So it took a minute to think of the most strategic place for putting them. Just a minor thing tho, as the drive itself ...

Really fast, but the RMA process is SLOW

Chad M., Newegg
27 August 2012
  • Summary: I might have just gotten a bad one since most reviews do not indicate a reliability problem. I can live with that, but the RMA process left a sour taste in my mouth.
  • Pros: This thing is really fast. I have a pretty new system with SATA 3 and a fast posting motherboard and it boots insanely fast. It's much quicker than the one year old SATA2 SSD I have in my laptop.
  • Cons: I had to RMA it after 6 months and the RMA process with Corsair was slower than I have come accustomed to. Including shipping time, which I had to pay for one way, I was without a drive for 16 days. That's not cool on a 6 month old drive.
