Summary: Pros: A little faster. Good size for the price Cons: A little faster. I also bought a Seagate hybrid that seems to be faster. Logging onto windows 8, the hybrid averaged 15-19 logon time while the ssd averaged 26-29 Would I recommend this? I think you can find better.
Summary: I purchased two of these SSD's and installed them in a RAID 0. One failed in about 7 - 10 days and had to be replaced. It was a good thing I had backed up the information and was able to restore it, otherwise it would be lost. Purchased a third SSD and set up a RAID 5, so far so good.
Summary: Well, trying out this SSD on performance; it is a good product if you have not jumped on the SSD band wagon. SSD's are fast and this one from Corsair is no exception. You will love the speed and instantaneously launching of programs. Now for some of the meat.
Summary: I realize this drive is not designed for this older laptop, but I needed the capacity and trusted the Corsair name. If it would only be recognized at boot, it would be super.
Pros: Fast, large SSD. Works well with newer SATA cards/motherboards that I tried. Also works well with USB-to-SATA adapters. It improved my Win7 laptop performance noticeably when it booted successfully.
Cons: MSI VR630 laptop failed to recognize drive at boot most of the time. When it did recognize the drive, it worked great and did not drop off during use. Corsair website claims compatibility with SATA I and SATA II with no known incompatibility--but regrettably I discovered one.
Summary: I bought this to see how much extra speed i could get to read & write movies to and from another hard drive almost no change but o well i was stuck with it (waited to long to return) so i upgraded my video card hopeing it would help BUT after doing so THIS SSD WILL NOT BOOT so i have a SSD in my...
Summary: I knew I should have sent the rebate paying the extra charge to the post office by using singature required mail. But since I have not had virtuly no problems in the past receving rebates, I decided not to.
Pros: Setup and install flawless, no problems, bracket included for mounting. As allways with ssd starup and shutdown fast. Games run a little bit faster, but only about 3-5 fps faster than my velociraptor.
Cons: Bought this somewhere else than newegg with a $50.00 rebate. Double and tripled checked the send in process, but Corsair uses the "have not recieved the mail in portion of the rebate excuse". It has been over 2 months now. VERY DISAPOINTED WITH COSAIR ON THIS. So I will never purchase another cos...
Summary: If you need to RMA your SSD, call them a day after you submit the request online, otherwise it will take a longer time to get a replacement. Phone support was great. I spoke with a tech who escalated the request and emailed me a prepaid UPS return label while I was on the line.
Pros: No questions asked replacement of the defective product. Free shipping both ways. Very latest drive with the latest firmware received.
Cons: Time waiting for the replacement. Time spent to re-install the hardware, OS and programs. Failure of the first drive keeps me edgy and somewhat distrustful towards the Corsair SSD
Summary: Don't blame the Controller on it, it works in other branded drives using it. There is some glitch in this model drive that merits avoiding it. There are other choices here and other choices at CORSAIR. The GT model is a lot more and is pretty in Red, but uses the same controller and it works.
Pros: It is cheap.
Cons: It doesn't work 50% of the time on 50% of the units. so we gave it three stars for being at 50%, BUT it deserves zero stars because your Operating System or your Data is on it.
