Great performance, flashing firmware is a NIGHTMARE

Amazon Customer "computer geek", Amazon
3 April 2012
  • Summary: This drive provides great performance, when it works properly! I have had numerous issues with these drives in several PC's I have either upgraded to use this drive, or built from scratch with this SSD as the boot drive. After battling a random reboot issue for a month in my HTPC, I discovered that this SSD had the 3.1 firmware, which had known issues with, you guessed it, random reboots and BSODs.

good drive rma process a pain?

T. Luo "tl", Amazon
31 January 2011
  • Summary: bought 6 on 2 occasions. one failed after two months tried to access rma for 1 of the 6 drives. apparently you need the ean or the s/n on the "PACKAGING" and not on the drive and since i no longer have the packaging i dont think i can get rma for the drive. you would think they put one of the numbers "on" the drive itself. it appears running these on a ich10r controller will only net me close to 700MB/s read and write and not even close to what i'm supposed to get.

ADATA S599 AS599S-128GM-C 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Alta, pricebat.ca
3 February 2013
  • Excerpt: None, certainly, at this point. Hope my opinion will alter when I install the replacement. No noticeable improvement in method boot time or system execution. Loading some applications did look to be more quickly. Only 111GB vs 128. Even if you order into 1,000,000,000 bytes = 1GB and the rest of the planet calcuates size employing IEEE standards, then it need to be 119GB.

ADATA S599 AS599S-128GM-C 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

  • Excerpt: Not positive - I can't genuinely test it Like yet another poster talked about, this drive worked until I rebooted the machine, now it just hangs for the duration of POST. I've updated the system BIOS to no avail. I was in a position to get by way of the initial leg of the XP 64 install (I know it's an antique, but it's vital for some CAD/CAM applications).

  • Excerpt: I'm sure it is fast... if it works I received mine and did my finest to get it to function. It did not show on bios or boot for a though, then finally, it showed up, but once i began to write to it, the drive would shut down right after ten-15 min of writing. Now, it will not show on bios or boot at all. I will replace through Newegg RMA to see if I can get a working one.
