fast but dead

Dan j., Newegg
16 October 2011
  • Pros: Fast drive. Used 2 in raid and was extremely fast.
  • Cons: one of my raid ssd's died within a month. so i lost all my data. replaced it and now 9 months later the other drive is failing. NOT HAPPY ADATA!!! horrible quality control. I am mad as now, i have to be without a working PC to RMA yet another ssd. wouldnt be so bad if they had advanced options fo...

Great until it died

Anonymous, Newegg
14 August 2011
  • Summary: It died about three months after I got it. I'm not entirely sure what happened but I booted up my laptop, noticed an unusually long POST and when I got in to the BIOS, the drive wasn't coming up at all. I connected it to my home gaming box's external SATA bay and the result was the same.
  • Pros: - Fast, simple, worked without a fuss. - Made my work laptop insanely fast and was just great to use. - 128GB is about enough for my needs; I have a regular 320GB drive for data but applications were on the SSD and everything flew.
  • Cons: - A bit expensive.

This drive needed help(new drivers)

Kenneth C., Newegg
31 May 2011
  • Summary: To be fair this drive has performed flawlessly since the update. I would buy it again
  • Pros: Drive is fast and does what it's supposed to. Good price
  • Cons: When I first received this drive it would restart itself every other day or so...very annoying. Adata released an update for it then recalled the update and a month later finally released an update that fixed the problem. Removed 2 eggs for the 2 months of restarting headache!

Fast, but breaks sleep/hibernate

Michael T., Newegg
17 April 2011
  • Summary: I miss sleep mode terribly. Computer used to be off most of the time, and would wake on lan for nightly backups and when I needed to use it. Now I have to leave it permanently on, which is a waste of power and cooling.
  • Pros: Super fast in comparision to the 7200 RPM drive it replaced.
  • Cons: I bought two of these and put them in a raid stripe using the onboard RAID on my motherboard. While the performance is good, my machine will no longer wake up from sleep or hibernate. I've updated the firmware on both drives to no avail. I have to toggle the power switch on the back of my powersu...

Come on Newegg!

Donza H., Newegg
5 April 2011
  • Summary: Not cool newegg. You need to get your tracking software right. I don't get a lot of mail so I don't check my mailbox everyday. If a package has been delivered it would be nice for your site to tell me.
  • Pros: The drive is good so far. A lot faster than my old HD. I would rank it a 4 or 5 star to bad I had to take some off for the horrible job newegg did on tracking the shipment.
  • Cons: I ordered this 8 days ago. I got my tracking number in my email and was happy to see that it was already shipped. According to newegg tracking it arrived at my post office on Saturday. As of today newegg still shows that its sitting at my postoffice. Something seemed fishy so I took my tracking n...

Very decent once fixed

James S., Newegg
28 February 2011
  • Summary: I am too busy to be beta tester. -2 eggs for QA failure on manufacturer's part. I will pay more for a more reputable brand next time.
  • Pros: Great speed - haven't benchmarked it but I have a 4x15k rpm SAS raid 0 and this kept up with it no trouble on file transfers. Glad I got an SSD.
  • Cons: Please note that **I FIXED THIS PROBLEM** but as it was shipped, it would constantly blue screen my laptop on resume from sleep or standy. I put it in my workstation and it would do the same. Finally they released the BIOS for end user to apply and after upgrading that, everything is great.

DO NOT BUY

Jason S., Newegg
8 February 2011
  • Summary: Shame, shoulda spent the extra 20 bucks to avoid this headache.
  • Pros: Rated speeds, ATTO benchmark must be used, not HDtune.
  • Cons: I had purchased this same SSD, and when I ran benchmarks the red/write were spiking all over the board, not running stable. I returned it and recieved another, and it just started blue screening yesterday, after a months use, and led to operating system corruption. Luckily I have a spare hard dri...

Pretty good for the price???

Rusty N., Newegg
12 January 2011
  • Summary: You Should always keep the packing for any SSD you buy! No questions asked! Just keep the small boxes somewhere for at least the first 30 - 60 days! And, you will avoid the headache I encountered in dealing with the NEWEGG customer service nightmares!
  • Pros: After installing 3 of these drive I noticed that the performance was not as great as the OCZ Vertex 2 40GB drive that I had previously tested. But, it is still fast enough!
  • Cons: One of the drives failed after being installed after a week. I RMAid the drive with NEWEGG but after sending it in they denied me because I didn't send it back with the original packaging. I realize that that the UPC can be used for rebates. But, there was no rebate available at the time for this...
