Summary: When ordering these bongos I was skeptical that they could be as high quality as described in many of the reviews for this price. When I received them my skepticism was met with the truth that these are not toys but high quality bongos for an incredible price. I have a friend that paid more than $200 for bongos that were not the quality of these that I got for less than $50! Great product, high quality, I am very happy with this purchase!
Summary: I'm not a musician and I've never played one on tv, but when I saw these go on sale I had to grab a set. Very good quality in my opinion, very solid construction. A lot of fun to play along with the stereo when the urge strikes me. My nephews and niece love them as well. If I didn't get along with my brother as well as I do I'd buy them each a set.
Summary: In my view these are pretty good bongos for the price. Once tuned they sound great. I kind of regret getting them only because I wish I had gotten something with a bit more base, but these have great clarity.
Best set of bongos to start on. Good price and awesome sound!

Summary: This is my second set of bongos. My first one Dark Stained Hardwood Tunable Bongo Drums 7" & 8" was a waste of money (read my review). These bongos are great! Way heavier than my first set. Well made, great finish and easy to tune with the wrench included. I like the sound and the fact that they are environmentally-friendly as they are manufactured with Siam Oak Wood. I have looked high and low for a good and affordable set of bongos.
Summary: this is a decent musical instrument that you won't mind hearing your little kids play. Haven't tried tuning them yet, but glad I can. The rawhide skin is durable--8 months of toddler boy use hasn't damaged it yet. The solid wood has a great tone and superior durability. Glad to have them in the mix for the kids. My little 18 month's eyes really light up when he plays them.
Summary: I write and record surf music, and had a piece that required bongos. I bought the Tycoon based on reviews on this page. I am very pleased with the sound, which is better than bongos I've played costing twice as much. Good quality construction, nice heads, great value.
