Dustbunny, amazon.com
13 January 2012
  • Summary: How was I to know that this could be so much fun and at my age too?! It was relatively easy to plug up considering I'm writing the idiot's guide to all this new electronic stuff but then I tested it out and WOW! THESE DRUMS ARE FUN!!!

Nice kit, but understand the difference...

Kevin Popovic, amazon.com
11 January 2012
  • Summary: The HD-1 is a nice kit for the money, but understand the difference between this and the next steps up the TD-4K2 or the TD-4KX2. The mesh heads are really nice in that they are sensitive and you can get a real feel for the drum. The triggers are just that - triggers.

Good kit for the price

John D Strauss, amazon.com
27 December 2011
  • Summary: All that stuff about not being able to adjust the sound on individual pads and cymbals being to low. If you do the research that should not be a suprise when you purchased it. yes it dos suck but this is what the kit is a small, limited kit for the people who can not afford $2K for a regular vdrum...

great Roland build quality; silly programming

Ferrari Quest, amazon.com
25 December 2011
  • Summary: Out of the box it took about half an hour to get up & drumming. There are no headphones or monitor, no seat, and no sticks, so you're going to need all those things too. There are 10 preprogrammed kits, and only 4 of them would ever be used for real playing.

theyre ok

roboteng, amazon.com
11 October 2011
  • Summary: Its a good stater set however the cymbals dont work very well. they're pretty quiet but exist. Also there is only one setting that has a double bass pedal (which also has the cowbell there ale many useless combinations like that. since the kits cant be altered it becomes a pain.

Small, portable, quality ok, but lacks in settings

H B, amazon.com
12 February 2011
  • Summary: Overall it's a great practice kit, but the lack of config settings both in hardware as in the sound (software) is a real pain. For instance, the cymbals, and especially the ride, is very low in volume.

Pro's and Con's of the Roland HD-1

TP "mxbmx930", amazon.com
9 February 2011
  • Summary: I owned a yamaha dtxpress 3 before this and i will never go back, this is the best thing you can get for portability and if you need something quiet. I will choose my acoustic kit any day but this has been great for my needs. It has 10 kits but at least 4 are very useable.
