Does the Job

Shwheelz, amazon.com
21 October 2011
  • Summary: I was in the process of figuring out a new set of heads for my drum set. I wanted something that produced less of an echo and more of a dull thud. Rather than get new heads, I invested in this Moongel. It turned out to be exactly what I needed. So rather than buying new heads, I just plopped these $5 resonance pads on and presto! My dreams came true ;) Good product, great price, and quick service. 5 stars.

Essential for any drummer!

Trevor W., amazon.com
23 September 2011
  • Summary: I used to buy my moon gels in the local music shop with a huge mark up price. It's easier to purchase them online and any drummer knows how important they are! Great purchase!

Works the best

  • Summary: Dead ringers are too much and duct tape is too messy. Moon gel is simple and always does the job right when I need muffling!

I always keep this handy

L. Boots, amazon.com
24 June 2011
  • Summary: I Don't know what I would do without this product. My floor toms ring more than my rack toms, this brings them into balance. My Ride cymbal isn't "dry" enough, (Zildjian Earth Ride 22"), This quiets it down just enough without losing the 'ping'. My cheap ZBT crash is usually too bright and fast compared to the other cymbals and this solves that too quite a bit. I just started playing and gigging again after 20+ years, and I'm glad to have found this product.

The BEST for recording drums with

Finchy, amazon.com
25 March 2011
  • Summary: I have been recording drums for 10+ years professionally and nothing beats Moongels when you need to get the attack and tone of a snare or tom focused. I have tried the old tape trick where you leave a flap sticking up, I have tried the really thin rings... nothing comes close. The tape is ok but can kill off too much of the tone of the drum. The rings are basically useless because when the drum is hit, the ring vibrates about on the head, basically floating on it.

Moongel ROCKS

Adam Phillips "el_scorcho", amazon.com
9 February 2010
  • Summary: I have been using this stuff for years... works really well for adjusting that annoying "ringing" sound that you can't quite get rid of by tuning adjustments. Highly recommended.

Brilliant but put them away after each session!

ratchetdrums, amazon.co.uk
18 January 2012
  • Summary: They work brilliantly for eliminating nasty overtones when you play, especially for snares. But my kit is by my window and after leaving them on there for about 2 weeks, they had bleached pink by the sun and had become weirdly overly-sticky. They still work fine but leave residue on my heads which can be a hassle to clean up. My advice is to take them off your kit and reapply them every time you sit down to play.

  • Summary: Moongel damper pads really do the job, they take those harmonics out. Not all of them, those that are necessary.

tiny!

rainpebble, amazon.co.uk
28 November 2011
  • Summary: I can't test these out yet, so can't give feedback on them working or not. I can give feedback to say they are tiny and not quite what I expected. Will have to let you know how they perform after Christmas, but I am a little doubtful!
