Drums for Christmas?
6 January 2012
Summary: I expected to regret giving this gift to my daughter, however the volume control really saves the day and she loves being able to "rock out". It is super convenient for moving to anywhere there is an outlet.
Summary: He seems to like it so far, hasn't played it a whole lot yet. He doesn't like that there are so many kits, but other than that, he hasn't had any complaints. I thought it would be bigger than it is, but it works out for us.
Summary: Played with it twice on Christmas day, then once yesterday. Was going to play today but it won't turn on even though the power supply light is on. Another issue is the volume is really low (doesn't get very loud at all).
Summary: I purchased this set for my 5-year old son for Christmas to introduce him to drums. I also purchased a set of head phones so the entire house didn't have to enjoy his "lessons". The set is constructed fairly well with hard enough plastics to withstand a pounding. The options are fairly robust for a cheap set as well. The main issue I have is the sound level is very low and hard to hear with out some kind of amp - we use our home stereo at times on the AUX setting.
Summary: Don't waste your money! Horrible product. I purchased for my 4 year old for Xmas. He hated them. You can hardly hear them. The sound quality is very very bad. I didn't have any expectations when I purchased except my son wanted some drums. This is the worst product I've bought in probably 10 years.
Summary: I purchased this item for my grandson for Christmas and he was thrilled. He spent a large amount of time playing drums at our Christmas celebration. I was impressed by how user friendly it is and expect he will be learning a lot. He has a good sense of rhythm and will enjoy this product for a long time. It was not too noisy for the rest of us to enjoy our conversation, as the volume can be controlled or headphones can be purchased to use with it, if you prefer.
Summary: We purchased this as a birthday present for our 5 year old grandson. He is at that point where "everything" within three feet of him becomes a "drum." We figured this would either be an amusing toy or lead to further study in percussion. The combination of features and price make this a great choice for our five year old. He likes it, and he is still interested. We'll see where it goes from here.
Summary: Ordered this for my 10 year old. Ad is misleading. It is not the demensions(sp) advertised. About the size of a laptop with drumpads approx 4" diameter. Pre-recorded beats ae louder than the drums you play so you can't hear yourself over the music. Played it for about 5 minutes, packed it right back up to return. Happy with seller, not happy with product.
Summary: I bought this for my son who loves drums. I thought this item would be the best of both worlds: He could play, wear a headset ;) ....and the house could still be relatively peaceful. The downside: Way too much peace. The ION set is VERY quiet. Too quiet. Even with the volume cranked up all the way, it was hardly audible. I knew my son would be completely disappointed with this drum-kit substitute. Hence, it has since been returned.
Size, dimensions are WAY off on Amazon's description
12 December 2011
Summary: Be warned. This is listed as having dimensions of 40.6 x 11.2 x 28.9 inches, and weighing 4 pounds. In addition, on Amazon's sales page, the drum kit is pictured out of the box, with nothing to compare it to size-wise. What you actually get is a 16-inch wide electronic drum pad. Lightweight and small. I really hope the drumsticks are not chopsticks size, which they will be if they are scale to the image as well.
