Drums are usable. Cymbals are toys.

  • Summary: I got these for my 7 year old son who wants to start learning drums. He hasn't seen them yet but I'm sure he'll like the way they look. At first I was concerned they were too small and would appear as a toy and not "real" drums, but that fear lessoned after finishing assembly. I also compared this set to some other junior drums and they all seem to use 16 inch kick drums. The kick, tom, and snare are my favorite parts of this set. They look nice and will serve well.

  • Summary: We bought this for a gift for my 9 yr old son, who loves it. It was pretty easy to assemble and sounds good. But it came with these little tiny drumsticks that my infant would probably like! So overall very nice.

Awesome drum set!

  • Summary: Of all the "jr" sized drum sets that we have looked at the ddrum D1 set is absolutely perfect for our 4 yr old son. He graduated up from a more toy like 3 pc set, so we didn't want to get another set that would not sound that great and not hold up to actual drum playing... Again this set was perfect. Quality construction, very good drums, cymbals and hi-hat could be a little better, but cymbals are usually hit or miss with this type of set.

  • Summary: It was inexpensive, which is what you'd hope if you heard it without knowing. The sound quality of the drums is okay if you only want to learn rhythm. The cymbals are terrible. The pedals are very poor quality. Assembly wasn't too difficult but no directions are provided. I would have returned it but for the loss of the shipping cost which was almost $80. It's good enough to learn on, for now.

  • Summary: I bought this for my sons 3rd birthday (I know he is still young but he is high energy and loves drums), I wanted something a little better then the first acts set and this set is great! It looks Great and the sound is great quality also! I had a brother in law who is a drummer to assemble it because otherwise I would have been lost(as others said there are no directions) but I'm very pleased with this purchase, if your looking for a starter drum set this is the one you...

  • Summary: This is a great set of drums for a kid who wants more than the First Act clumsy drum set. It's solid, looks fabulous and my kid is enjoying it! I also bought it just before Christmas from Amazon when they had it on the Deals, great price! I agree, thought it would come with directions, but thankfully you can find them online.

  • Summary: I got this for my 4 year old son for Christmas. He absolutely loves it and can't stop playing it. The set was easy to put together and it is really decent quality. Only 4 stars because of the cheap hi hat foot pedal and bass drum pedal.... hopefully they hold up for a while. These drums sound really good.

So far so good

Mike, amazon.com

  • Summary: I ordered the D1 drums for my 4 year old for christmas and I received it yesterday and assembled it last night. No instructions were provided but I was able to find general instructions online. The assemble was pretty easy and actual sort of fun once I got the hang of it. The quality and sound seem to be pretty good and they look very sharp. The only con I can find so far is the quality of the bass pedal and the high hat pedal.
