Just what I needed

Edward J. Clauss "Music Geek", amazon.com
7 November 2011
  • Summary: As a drummer in a cover band, I use quite a large kit (7-piece with Gibraltar Rack and eight cymbals) but I never seem to have "effects" type items that are needed to make our covers perfect. The Alesis PercPad filled this void for me. The other reviewer found most of the sounds UFO-ish, on the contrary, the sounds I use this for are perfect. I use the clap-track, the E-tom and two congas, and they couldn't be better.

Simple, easy to use, but quite limited in sounds

Bob, amazon.com

  • Summary: The PercPad is a relatively inexpensive way to add various electronic sounds to your drumkit. Each pad can have one sound associated with it; when you hit the pad, the soud plays. There aren't any builtin speakers, so you'll either wire it to your existing ekit or use separate apeakers. Frankly, I don't see much use for this, Many of the sounds are "UFO-ish" and just aren't useful, The sound quality is good, there's just nothing worth playomg.
