Summary: We go through lots of ice and this is the best purchase that we have made in years. We have an ice machine in our kitchen refrigerator that doesn't do the trick and we were finding that we were purchasing ice to supplement. My parents have a similar model and love it so we decided on this one. We love it. currently it is standing alone and working like a dream. I am going to add it under a counter to a kitchenette.
Summary: I bought this unit to replace a Uline CLR unit of the same size. This ice maker fit into the cabinet perfectly. The only problem I have is that from reading the specs, the 1/4 inch custom panel door on the CLR machine should have fit this unit, but does not andI have to purchase a new wood panel. The ice cubes are a little smaller than expected, which is a good thing. I love the fact that there is no drain. I was able to install this machine easily by myself.
Summary: Was a bit damaged in shipping, but nothing major. Whatever it was misaligned the fan so it would run for a few min and cycle off because it was overheating. Quick call to Uline pointed me in the right direction so I took a look before having someone out. Just had to push the fan bracket forward about 1/8 inch and all works fine. We have a drain and had a clear ice unit.
Summary: This unit has been installed for about a month now, it keeps up with the demand of our small school. The best thing about it is that it doesn't require a drain. We would have to unplug our old unit during winter because it drained to the outside and would freeze. You get nice "dry" ice every time no melting cubes at all.
Summary: Undercabinet use in a basement bar. One of the few icemakers that requires no drain and will hold up to 25 lbs of ice. It takes about a day to fill the container. The best part about this type of icemaker is that the ice lasts longer due to the refridgerated storage compartment. The traditional draining icemaker with clear ice is barely frozen and melts very quickly.
