Happy with the humidifier, J&R

Summary: Great humidifier, I have used Bionare humidifiers before but haven't been able to find them anymore. This one is relatively quiet and humidifies the room in a reasonable amount of time. I have a loft in NYC and the humidifier manages to work in a large open space (probably much larger than it was intended for). The tank is, unfortunately, somewhat awkward to fill up and re-install. It is a large tank, though, and lasts about 18 hours when running continuously.
Excerpt: I usually do it once in 24 hours. Also, the air humidifier is very durable, though I recommend you to put it only on solid surfaces (i.e. avoid carpets, fabric, etc) so that it wouldn’t have its air flow blocked. Among electro-mechanical devices, there’s no doubt that it’s near perfect. However some part of this perfection is in proper maintenance. Clean it often, and use distilled - not tap water - to get much less white dust.
Summary: The winter humidity in my apartment ranges from 0% to 11%...much too low for most people. More importantly, I own several valuable guitars that are very sensitive to high or low humidity, and subject to damage therefrom. The Vornado Model 30 puts out a very fine mist that disappears immediately, driven by a strong stream of air, which also serves to evenly disperse the added moisture into even large rooms.
