Great for a Music Room
3 June 2014
Summary: I'm using this humidifier to keep my music room at a constant 45% and it works great. My ukuleles are happy and now my wife is moving her violins into my room (a mixed blessing). I haven't had any problems filling the water tank or leaking.
Summary: We have been using the Vornado in our bedroom for the past week. Set at 45 percent humidity and low speed, the unit runs continuously, so we don't know the humidity level we actually achieve, but we are definitely sleeping better. The fan noise level has forced us to keep the speed on low, and at that speed need to fill the water tank once a day, which is another indicator of the moisture it is adding to the air.
Pros: effectively increases humidity in one room manageable size acceptable noise level on low speed
Cons: noisy at higher speeds some difficulty replacing full tank into cradle
Summary: We needed a single room humidifier to keep guitars in good shape during this long winter. After quite a bit of research we stumbled across this and snatched it up. It arrived quickly, well packaged. Read through the directions quickly, filled the tank and let 'er rip. This is an excellent product from a respected company, and Costco's deal with extra wicks and free shipping made it the best deal on the planet.
Pros: adjustable humidity % humidistat single room extra wicks free shipping
Summary: Humidifier does help to raise the humidity in our extremely dry air. My hopes were that it would help to settle the dust in the air so we wouldn't be sneezing so much. Been using it continuously for 2 weeks now and still see so much dust in the air and still sneezing. But glad I purchased it.
Pros: quiet on low speed. love the blue led lights. they act as nightlight.
Summary: This humidifier helped a ton in Winter when my skin was getting really dry. The relief from the humidifier was pretty quick. It's silent in low setting and manages to humidify my fairly large living area in a couple hours. The one big downside, I wish it came with a remote. It's so large that I want it stowed away next to my kitchen appliances and I have to reach out to it.
Pros: large water tank capacity silent in low setting quick
Summary: Reviews were accurate, and it worked great for about 2 months. After 2 months, the tank would seem fine when filled and installed, but after a couple of hours would be empty and water all over floor. Figured out that a slow leak occurred between top cap (installed) of tank and side of tank. Initially thought problem was gasket, but it wasn't. This leak let air in slowly and caused problem. Costco took the product back.
Pros: worked great for about 2 months
Cons: failure mode is messy (tank of water on floor)
Summary: I like the design of this humidifier, but it doesn't humidify for long. I could never get it above 21% and the tank was empty after less than 8 hours. I'm in NYC where it can be dry, but not as dry as other places. I was really hoping to find a humidifier that I only need to fill every 2-3 days. It was in my living room, which is less than 500 sf.
Summary: This is a fine humidifier. The only problem is the loudness. It is so loud as we are sleeping next to a manufacotory. In the long run, this level of noise will make be enough damage our hearing. We decide to return it in order to protect our hearing.
Pros: producing enough humidity for our bedroom
Cons: very noisy; it needs to use ear plugs when use it; the water tank is heavy when it is full; filling in water everyday needs extra efforts.
