Soccer Mom x 2 (Lincoln, RI), AllergyBuyersClub.com
10 March 2014
  • Summary: Great humidifier for a sitting area. Easy to fill humidifier via the side fill opening. I use tap water and fill a water bottle twice and pour it in. Love not having to lug a tank to the sink. Bought one for my elderly mom as well. I would recommend this for a sitting room or daytime living area in an apartment for an elderly person. For me the only minus was that I thought the blue light it emits was a bit too bright for use to use in a bedroom overnight night.
  • Pros: effective, quiet, reliable, easy to use, met my expectations

Feels Cheap - Controls Suck

M. Duran "Decidocisum", Amazon
19 December 2013
  • Summary: Setup and filling are not difficult. Unit turns on the switch feels like it has a cartoon spring in it but ok. Fan speed control works but is it so cheaply built it seems that all the other buttons move when you press one, which means all the different buttons are probably one part.. to save a few cents on manufacturing I guess. The buttons for humidity level does not work. The button for the light does not work.

Best humidifer I've ever used

Richard Dean, Amazon
3 April 2013
  • Summary: We've tried a number of different humdifiers for our daughter's room. Most of them are loud, spew white dust (hard water here), are difficult to fill, and don't automatically shut off. The Oskar, while more expensive than many others, addresses all of those concerns. Pro's -It's amazingly quiet -You can fill it without taking it apart -You can turn down the blue LEDs -Doesn't fill the room with white dust -Unlike another reviewer, I thought it was pretty easy to see the...

Too basic for the price.

W. Munro, Amazon
1 April 2013
  • Summary: Before I ordered,I did not fully understand what "evaporative" humidifier meant. This is basically a pan of water with a fan that rests over the top. With a filter thrown in. That's it. I'm pretty sure you could put a regular room fan in front of a bowl of water and get the same effect. Does not seem worth the price.

Love it! Not your everyday drugstore humidifier!

Protographer, Amazon
26 March 2013
  • Summary: I did a ton of research before I reluctantly bought the Oskar. Fortunately, I didn't read the reviews here on Amazon until I had already placed my order! I'm pretty sure I'd have been dissuaded from buying it had I read the horrible ones from the disappointed folks. First off, what the Oskar is not. It is not a "Cool Mist", AKA Ultrasonic humidifier, that sends a pulse through the water creating a very visible mist that spews into the air.

Cute But Sadly Ineffective

Steven Huegli "steve", Amazon
25 March 2013
  • Summary: We really liked the clean styling of this little white box, and it did in fact look quite at home in our minimalist house but after using it over the course of several months we have given up and are now shopping for an ultrasonic humidifier. The Oskar simply didn't produce enough moisture to noticeably impact our 12x12 room. The evaporative medium also needs to be replaced every few months as mold starts to grow.

Great product.

  • Summary: Used it every night in the winter. Loved the fact that I could refill it right by my bed and not have to carry it to the sink. Would definitely recommend it.
