Summary: I bought one of these from another vendor. I had read a few bad reviews of Fred but they seemed to be outweighed by the positive ones so I gave it a try. Soooooooooooooo disappointing. I have breathing difficulties and have to deal with bulky, ugly, noisy, messy humidifiers every winter in order to just stay kind of healthy. So, the possibility of having a semi-attractive, low maintenance humidifier was a big treat. Reviews said the housing was cheap-feeling and plastic.
Summary: Been running the product non stop for three days now with no issues. Runs as advertised and only needs refill once a day at "full steam". I like the "anit-scale" ball in this product and hope it works well as we have hard water. Shipping was fast. Packaging was a bit over the top but well done. Instructions are clear. I'll update this review with any issues.
Summary: We used this humidifier for about 1 week. It was great at first- quiet and did a great job of humidifying the room. It quit working after a week. We sent it in to be fixed under warranty, and was told that the boiler plate was ruined from not being cleaned regularly. It was not covered by warranty. They wanted us to pay $10 to ship the broken item back to us. If you want to scrub this thing after every use, maybe it would last longer.
User error is probably mostly to blame for the low reviews.

Summary: I've had this humidifier for 2 years and I'm getting another one for my downstairs. It steams my room wonderfully without leaving white mist. I use tap water and once every couple of months, i clean it with a q-tip and some vinegar. When I first got it, the valve that controls the water flow was not properly seated and it was dumping out water, but I read the manual and figured out how to set it back where it goes.
Summary: If you are looking for a relatively basic but very stylish humidifier, Fred is the perfect choice. Fred is warm air humidifier with a few basic buttons which glow a futuristic blue at night. Most humidifies in this price range have more functions and larger water tanks, but look designed for a drab hospital. Although made of plastic, Fred feels very sturdy and solid. As far as humidifiers go, it looks cool.
Summary: I've seen a negative review about this and I want everyone to know that the review is entirely reasonable. The review is that it can strip paint and that it leaks. This is a HOT STEAM product. If you want a simple humidifier, buy a humidifier. This product is very nice in a bathroom before jumping in the tub to have a sauna feel. I have also used it in my bedroom, and it has not harmed the paint in my rather large room nor has is messed up my carpet in any way.
Summary: I bought this humidifier several years ago - mainly because it was the only humidifier I ran across that didn't look like some big, plastic, medical equipment. It has work really well. The design is great! Super easy to fill and clean without a ton of parts. While it doesn't recede completely, it is at least whimsical and fun and like all Swizz designs, elegant and clean.
Summary: We bought this humidifier because I have asthma and a humidifier really helps me to breathe. It only lasts several hours and you have to refill it 2 times a day. You have to clean it every few days and it is a PAIN to clean, there are a few tiny parts and a ball in the middle that had to be scrubbed hart to get the mineral deposits off, it is such a terrible task.
Summary: I don't write reviews often, but am really upset that I wasted so much money on this humidifier. My husband got this for me because I have frequent nose bleeds from the dry air. We used it for one week and was pleased with it because it was so quiet. I didn't like the hassle of having to take it apart daily to refill the water, but put up with it because it was cute. On the eighth day, I tried to turn it on but it wouldn't work. At all.
Summary: very simple steam humidifier. You should be aware of the types of humidifier and not be suprised at the hot steam and potential of accidental burns. If you have small child, you should not own this. Pros: Steam= no white dusts, no filters to change, bacterias are "boiled" off. Stylish= no toy looking controls, no clear blue medical looking canisters auto shut off when water is depleted cons: All plastic material shell(including the feet): now, I'm not sure if the...
