Summary: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I just realized I have never posted a review for this item . . . and its one of the best things I own! I got this from Amazon 2 years ago and its still kicking! I love that it has a cool/warm mist setting (which is hard to find for under $100.) If you use the low output setting, it will run for about 24 hours. I will say the "warm" mist doesn't seem very warm, but really no complaints since overall it does the trick.

Summary: The owner's manual identifies the filter lasts 6 weeks, provided 8-hour per day operation; perfectly accurate iinformation. After three weeks at maximum output and continuous (cold water) operation, white dust collected on my air conditioning pre-filters. We deduced a two week life of the humidifier filter, as our AC filters were one week old. We do not use the heated mist operation, but do not believe it impacts the filters life.
Summary: I have purchased and used a variety of humidifiers over the years. Holmes, Vicks, Bionaire, etc. Usually after one or two seasons, they crap out, even with proper care and usage. I decided to purchase this one because of the reviews, and have been very happy with it so far. I really like the ultrasonic mist that you can see and how easy it is to fill and clean. There isn't any noise when running, which is nice.
Summary: I have had as many as 6-7 humidifiers before the SPT SU-4010 Dual Mist Humidifier. What I like about this product is that is quiet and very effective. I bought it because my 8 year old daughter has to have it when she gets a cold and starts coughing or she develops pneumonia. Running it at half speed will use up 2/3 of the tank in one night.
Summary: I don't review a lot of products, but I felt compelled to share my bad experience with this humidifier: 1. It leaked within the first week 2. The warm mist is not remotely warm 3. Lastly, within the first week, the humidifier would not work, and the red light to add more water would not go off. I had a perfectly good Air-O-Swiss humidifier, but it did not have warm mist. So, I thought to trade-up, which was a tremendous mistake.
Summary: This is the best of the humidifiers I've purchased so far. The mist is extremely fine and the dual direction spout is handy. No irritating mineral deposit pads either. The litmus test will be how long the ionic filter actually lasts. I've found that I only have to refill the unit once daily if I keep the humidity dial on a lower setting. If you want to raise the humidity, just be prepared to refill more frequently.
Summary: Bought this humidifier to keep the bedroom comfortable during the winter months. It has a lot of great features, like the warm mist and dual-facing outflow nozzles so you can get more coverage. After reading the instructions (some humidifiers are touchy), I placed it on a flat, non-absorbant surface as recommended. This product worked GREAT the first time I used it.
Summary: The one I had left puddles of water on the floor when running. When the tank had to be removed for filling, it was not possible to remove it without dripping water on the floor. Tank was also quite small and had to be filled more than twice a day to humidify a small room. All in all didn't work right, and I returned it. Got a Venta warm air humidifier with electronic switches and indicators from another vendor which I am quite happy with.
Summary: Similar to the Air-O-Swiss (and double-o-the-price) model, this humidifier outputs visible white mist and lots of it! There's no steps on the adjustment knob and it feels great to turn. Makes very little noise and works very well. Looks simple, like a professional model with no extra quirks or cheap adjustments or 'features' that complicate a simple machine. Good quality and half the price of the Air-o-Swiss, I'm glad I bought it.
