Really Big Humidifier

Kathleen C., Newegg
13 March 2016
  • Summary: My house has a 2-zone HVAC; heat is forced-air gas on one side, and heat pump on the other. I wanted to add *some* humidity to the house, but I was not looking to maintain a precise humidity level. This unit meets my expectations. It claims it will humidify 3200 sq. ft..
  • Pros: The Lasko 1128 has a three-speed fan, and humidity dial. It will cycle on and off around the humidity setting. There is a 1-1/2 gallon filler jug to make refilling the humidifier easier -- you take the jug to the sink, fill it, and insert into the humidifier case. The chassis has 4 casters, enabl...
  • Cons: Replacement filters are pricey, both from Lasko and from Newegg. I found a less-expensive 3rd party supplier. I expect to use just one filter per year. It is not easy to see when the water level is low. There is a clever window into the water stream so you can see whether water is flowing or not,...

  • Summary: For starters, this is a little larger than you probably think it is. I was surprised when I unpacked it, but it's certainly nothing like the large console humidifiers that I've been using for years.

Reliable for 3 years of heavy use

Eric Leighton, Amazon
20 October 2015
  • Summary: Now that I am entering my 4th season using this humidifier with satisfaction I can certainly say it receives my full endorsement. We run our unit here in the north country nearly 24/7 for 6 months out of the year, and it has done the job for 3 seasons, so if it quit tomorrow I would not feel...

Worked great for two months

ed1, Amazon
15 August 2015
  • Summary: Worked great for two months, and then, just stopped. There was some miscommunication between me and Lasko that hampered replacement. But once that was straightened out I got a replacement order within five days of my returning the "cut" cord on old product. This is a great way to return a product.

This worked wonderfully for my 1200 square foot home

Amazon Customer, Amazon
3 June 2015
  • Summary: I used this product all winter. Due to the mineral content in my water, I needed to change the filter 2 times (not the machines fault just the quality of my water). This worked wonderfully for my 1200 square foot home.

2 April 2015
  • Summary: The only draw-back is the small number of drips when changing the water tank. This is easily overcome with placing a towel under the tank before swinging it out over a carpet or other covering.

No white powder all over everything!

Holly, Amazon
30 March 2015
  • Summary: This unit works great and it doesn't leave the white powder like ultrasonic units do. I've run this unit for about 3 weeks now and couldn't be happier. It quickly brings the humidity in the room up to 40% or more and then maintains the humidity at that level.

Goodbye to too dry

Brian Smith, Amazon
15 March 2015
  • Summary: This does a nice job of keeping our 900sq foot space livable in the winter. We have forced air heat and when it is cold out it gets very dry inside. We use this to keep some moisture in the air during winter.

the Lasko customer service is dismal at best. I had to order some replacement filters

amzn_mbr_2621, Amazon
14 March 2015
  • Summary: First of all this claims to be a 9 gallon humidifier. I've never been able to get it to evaporate more than 4.5 gallons in a 24 hour period with the machine on the very highest setting running continuously 24/7.
