  • Summary: Decent quality and realistic costs of supplies make it a simple choice.
  • Pros: Indeed, the unit is large and cleanup requires a double sink, but this is a blessing in disguise because it allows for MUCH larger evaporative element than average 50-60 dollar humidifier. I went through several and measured the amount of water I add. This sucker WILL blow a gallon in 8 hours whe...
  • Cons: Yes, it WILL die from calcification (it is a submercible pump design, so a dunk in CLR might extend it's service if it will not eat the pump on its own :) , soft water will help, but saving on supplies and HUGE evaporative capacity for the cost / size are worth it!

  • Summary: Softened water is a requirement! Otherwise the filter media will absorb all the sediment. Filter media costs' about 7.00 per filter and may be purchased online or thru a big box home improvement store. • Cons: The Fan and the water pump motor fail after 2 - 3 years. I know because this is the third one I have owned. LASKO FIX THE PROBLEM Noise on the high setting is a bit loud but still quieter than most. But it works so well that the low setting works fantastic for just the bedroom.

  • Summary: Need a better design inside out.
  • Pros: It does blow out cool air that contain very little water vapor. You don't see any water vapor or smoke.
  • Cons: 1. Too loud, seems like standing next to an car engine that's spinning 3000rpm. 2. The filter gets dirty or yellow very easy. 3. Have to clean the inside every 3 days, including cleaning the filter, washing the container. 4. Difficult to clean, require a large space to do the cleaning. 5. Don't k...
