Summary: I just read a couple of negative reviews here, some that were even clueless as to how the unit works, that blew my mind so felt I had to post my own review. I have had my 700 for 10 years and it is still going strong and working great.
Aprilaire 700A replaces Honeywell Truesteam and life is good!

Summary: We purchased the Aprilaire 700A and installed it per the instructions. I have to say it works better than the Honeywell Truesteam it replaced. The Truesteam ran all the time and cost over $400.00 in repairs over the 5 years owned. (Piece of S***!
Summary: This model humidifier is well-designed and does the job quietly and reliably. It mounts easily and well. I recommend it for any good central heating system. I upgraded from a 20 year old Aprilaire.
Summary: Had to repair the humidistat. Was able to do that myself. Replaced an older Aprilaire 700. The new one requires totally rewiring the humidistat. Be advised that there are many wires required that run to the solenoid, outdoor temperature sensor and to the furnace control board.
Summary: We purchased the 700 in 2004 and it has been nothing but a headache for us. The first two years the water panel wouldn't stay wet. The installer blamed it on the saddle attachement to the water pipe. He came out and cleaned the saddle and claimed it worked but we never had anything but dry air.
Summary: I like this model as it can now maintain my house up around 45% humidity with the new fan controls. We live in Colorado where humidity is a real commodity, and this model really helps raise the humidity in our house. Our house is over 2500sf and it has no problem keeping out house there.
Summary: I've had this humidifier since the house was built 3 years ago. It simply doesn't provide any humidity. Separate readings show I'm at 20-27% throughout the winter. This unit can't keep up with a 4000 sq ft house. nose bleeds, dry skin, 3 separate (non-furnace) systems, and tons of lotion!
Summary: I have been using this for almost a year now and I think this is working out great. However, the installation took a little bit longer than that was suggested on the Video. Good instructions except for some areas where I thought could have been better.
