Summary: This model humidifier is well-designed and does the job quietly and reliably. It mounts easily and well. I recommend it for any good central heating system. I upgraded from a 20 year old Aprilaire.
Summary: I just read a couple of negative reviews here, some that were even clueless as to how the unit works, that blew my mind so felt I had to post my own review. I have had my 700 for 10 years and it is still going strong and working great.
Summary: I have a 2600 sq feet split level in Maryland. We are a small family of 3 and we use a small portion of the house. This machine does not have the capability to keep this house at comfortable humidity in the winter. One feels dry and flaky all winter. Don't install this. Get something else.

Summary: In less than a year the solenoid valve broke, Aprilaire will not honor their 5-year warranty if self installed. Valve costs $100 to replace. I would go with a different brand that actually stands behind their product.
Summary: I like this model as it can now maintain my house up around 45% humidity with the new fan controls. We live in Colorado where humidity is a real commodity, and this model really helps raise the humidity in our house. Our house is over 2500sf and it has no problem keeping out house there.
